NBA Basketball Picks: Pacers vs Cavs

Bookmark and Share by Aaron Torres

The NBA’s top team returns to action in Wednesday night’s betting odds. That’s when the Cleveland Cavaliers host the Indiana Pacers.

Indiana Pacers (22-45 SU, 31-35-1 ATS) at Cleveland Cavaliers (53-15 SU, 33-33-2 ATS)

Wednesday, March 17: 7:00 p.m.

NBA Odds: Cleveland -13.5

Here are some NBA Betting Trends which may impact this game:

  • Indiana: 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games
  • Indiana: 2-4 SU in their last 6 games
  • Cleveland: 2-4 ATS in their last 6 games
  • Cleveland: 5-1 SU in their last 6 games

Cleveland comes into this game as one of the hottest teams in the league, and as we inch towards the playoffs are only getting better. They’ve won nine of their last 10 games.

Leading the way as always is last year’s NBA MVP, superstar LeBron James. The guy is simply a man playing with boys right now. On Tuesday night, in a win over Detroit James went off for his fourth triple-double of the season, scoring 29 points and adding 12 rebounds and 12 assists. Not bad for a Tuesday night’s work. Since returning from a minor ankle injury, he’s scored in double figures all three games and added 10 assists twice as well.

As for the team around him, it is slowly starting to take the look of a championship contender. In Tuesday night’s win, guard Mo Williams added 20 points and forward Antawn Jamison 15 as well. To show their balance (and James’ brilliance passing), eight players scored at least seven points.

The Pacers have no such luxury this season however, as they are battling injuries, bad coaching and an overall lack of talent. It’s really that simple. They are coming off a loss of their own Tuesday night in Charlotte.

Indiana’s best player is very likely Danny Granger, a former All-Star who has struggled this year with some injuries. He’s back at full strength though, and had a big game Tuesday, scoring 26 points and adding eight rebounds. On the year, he scores 23 a game to lead Indiana.

As for Wednesday night, well, there’s no nice way to put this. But it could get ugly in Cleveland.

The Cavs are on a mission, not only trying to wrap up the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference, but trying to finish with the best record overall, ensuring home-court advantage throughout the playoffs.

While that is all yet to be determined, we know one thing, they won’t falter in the betting odds Wednesday.

Cleveland is playing great basketball, and is just starting to show what kind of team they might have come the playoffs. They should be your play Wednesday night.
