The offensively-challenged Charlotte Bobcats (3-7 SU, 6-4 ATS, 5-5 O/U) acquired veteran swingman Stephen Jackson and point guard Acie Law on Monday in a move they hope will help their glaring inability to put the ball in the hole on a consistent basis.

With the team averaging an NBA-low, 83.3 points per game, the Bobcats will hit the city of brotherly love tonight to take on a Philadelphia 76ers (4-6 SU, 3-7 ATS, 4-6 O/U) team that is still trying to adjust to new head coach Eddie Jordan.

While the Bobcats added a consistent scorer in Jackson, Philadelphia recently lost one of its promising players as second-year power forward Marreese Speights went down with a partial tear of the MCL in his left knee on Friday.

Charlotte has lost five straight games while failing to cover the spread each time out, including a 97-91 loss to Orlando on Monday in which Jackson scored 13 points and added nine rebounds in his debut.

Analysis: The Bobcats have won four of the last five games against Philadelphia, going 3-2 ATS during the stretch and I like them to cover the 4.5-point spread against Philly tonight, bolstered by the addition of Jackson and the loss of Speights.

Philly has put up an average of just 89 points per contest over their last two ballgames and I think it will take some time to work Brand back in the lineup.

Though the former perennial all-star has been starting for the Sixers this season, Brand has consistently sat out the fourth quarters for Philly in an inexplicable move by Jordan, who chose to go with Speights down the stretch.

The Bobcats cover the NBA point spread in this one and may even win this game outright.
