NBA Betting Odds – Rebuilding Clippers Face Struggling Hornets

Clippers (-2) vs. Hornets (+2)

Tonight, 8:00 M ET

Okay BetUS NBA pro basketball betting members, you may want to sit down before I go any further.

Ready? No longer are the Los Angeles Clippers (4-7 SU, 4-7 ATS, 4-7 O/U) are no longer the laughingstock of the NBA.

That imaginary title could go to several teams this season, but certainly, not the Clippers, who actually have a pretty bright future in front of them if they can build on the recent drafts with more smart additions in the near future.

The Clippers will face one of the worst teams in the league right now when they travel to Louisiana to battle the New Orleans Hornets (3-8 SU, 3-8 ATS, 6-5 O/U) at New Orleans Arena tonight at 8 PM ET.

The Clippers snapped a three-game losing streak on Sunday, beating the Oklahoma City Thunder 101-93 to cover the NBA point spread as a 5.5-point road underdog.

Chris Kaman scored 25 points and grabbed seven rebounds for the Clippers while veteran point guard Baron Davis added 24 points in the win.

New Orleans has been in an absolute free-fall since last week, first, firing head coach Byron Scott and then watching as point guard Chris Paul was lost to an ankle injury just one day later.

The Hornets have dropped three consecutive games coming into this contest and lost to the high-flying Atlanta Hawks 121-98 Saturday, failing to cover the game’s NBA point spread as 12.5-point home favorites in the process.

Trends
Clippers are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games as a road favorite.
Favorite is 13-3 ATS in the last 16 meetings.
Clippers are 1-10 ATS in the last 11 meetings.
Clippers are 0-4 ATS in the last 4 meetings in New Orleans.
Over is 7-0 in the last 7 meetings in New Orleans.
Over is 5-1 in the last 6 meetings.

Analysis: The Hornets are going to be in a bad way without Chris Paul’s leadership, not to mention his scoring and passing.

I like the Clippers to win their second consecutive contest tonight despite playing on the road as Baron Davis should be able to have his way against Darren Collison and whomever else the Hornets line up in front of him.

I also like the way Clippers center Chris Kaman has been playing, averaging a robust 22.3 points per game while scoring over 20 points in every game this season except one.

L.A. forward Al Thornton and veteran shooting guard Rasual Butler are excellent scorers and I just don’t think the Clippers have the firepower right now to keep up with the Clippers in this contest.

Don’t have a heart attack or anything BetUS NBA pro basketball betting enthusiasts, just take the rebuilding Clippers to win and cover the NBA point spread while.
