NBA Betting Predictions – New York Knicks vs. Philadelphia 76ers
by Tim Furious

If there are any teams less trustworthy than the Knicks and Sixers in basketball betting predictions, I’d like to see them. In a battle of two lottery bound franchises mired in bad contracts, underwhelming personnel and poor betting track records, discerning a solid pick in this matchup is tough. No wonder the oddsmakers just threw their hands up and gave Philly the natural home line.
The Knicks have gone just 4-14 SU in their last 18 games and are 2-10 SU in their past 12 games on the road. Usually the sports betting handicap given to them has allowed them to be a decent bet, but even that hasn’t helped the Knicks’ betting backers all that much. The Knicks are just 2-2-1 ATS in their past 5 games, which has been highlighted by a recent victory over the Dallas Mavericks which snapped their winning streak.
Building momentum off that loss seems fruitless especially with the thought of losing a shot at a top-5 pick in the upcoming NBA Draft would be on the line. Against the Sixers, the Knicks have gone just 2-8 SU and 3-7 ATS in their past 10 meetings but Philadelphia is caught in a rut. The Sixers have lost their past four, straight games by a margin of -11.0 points per game.
New York Knicks (23-43) vs. Philadelphia 76ers (23-43)
Monday, March 15 th --- Wachovia Center --- 7:00pm EST
NBA Betting Line: Philadelphia -3 (210)
Philadelphia is supposed to be one of those teams that is solid at home. Yet in their past 25 games at the Wachovia Center, the Sixers have gone just 8-17 ATS. Recently they’ve fallen to just 1-9 SU in their past 10 games overall and are 3-7 ATS during that stretch.
As scary as it is to log an NBA betting prediction on the Knicks when they’re playing on the road, it’s almost impossible to have more faith in the Sixers when they’re playing at home. This game should be a matchup nightmare for New York, but David Lee has battled Dalembert and Brand down low efficiently in two games this season. Lee has averaged 16.5 points and 7.0 rebounds in the past two games against Philadelphia where New York is 1-1 SU/ATS against Philly.
The wheels have officially fallen off the bus for the Sixers and I just have a feeling that New York will be flying high after their 128-94 dismantling of the Mavericks. That’s why, despite this being a horrific basketball game, my betting prediction is with New York.
Furious Free Pick: Knick +3 (OVER)
