NBA Betting Preview – Chicago Bulls vs. Dallas Mavericks

Bookmark and Share by Tim Furious

The injury depleted Bulls showed sudden signs of vigor last night when they sliced an 18-point deficit to just four-points against Memphis last night.

Though the game ended in yet another loss for the Bulls, they cleared the betting line for the first time in eight games and are looking at a somewhat attractive monster spread tonight when they visit Dallas.

While Luol Deng and Derrick Rose are listed as questionable tonight, the Bulls will continue on without Joakim Noah but will receive the services of Kirk Hinrich who has completed his one-game suspension. In the starting rotation, the Bulls have received some major scoring punch from unlikely sources.

Hakim Warrick put away a 22-point night in spite of Memphis’s huge front court and Flip Murray added 25-points.

Perhaps the only thing that scares mea bout this game is the fact that Chicago is playing on back-to-back nights. In the past they’ve faired fairly well against Dallas, going 4-2 ATS in their past 6 meetings despite holding a 3-20 SU record in the past 23 games.

Your decision lies whether you believe Chicago will be tired or surging on momentum from last night’s effort.

Chicago Bulls (31-35) vs. Dallas Mavericks (45-22)

NBA Betting Line: Dallas -14 (208)

Dallas has overcome the majority of their own injury issues, and the most important return was that of Jason Terry, the team’s second-best scorer.

Terry has missed the past five-games but the Jet is ready to add his spectacular shooting touch to the game tonight.

Will it be enough, though, for Dallas to clear this line? Dallas has gone 13-1 SU with their amazing winning streak coming to a brutal end in a 94-128 loss against New York.

They’ve now had four-days of rest to get back on the horse but no amount of recuperation can excuse the fact that Dallas is 0-4-1 ATS when playing at home recently.

Dallas is sure to win this game, but I really like what I saw out of Chicago last night. And no matter who takes the court for Chicago, the return of at least one starter to the lineup will stabilize the consistency in their offense.

Dallas has been untrustworthy when playing at home, and until they show they can clear any type of spread at home, there’s no way I’m standing in the line of fire with so many points to cover.
