With Isaiah Thomas’ ridiculously premature signing and the team’s subsequent losing skid and tumble in the standings, there are few New York Knicks.
In that regard, the Minnesota Timberwolves could give them a run for their money. The T’wolves have been all but eliminated from playoff contention for the third straight year and could be on the verge of losing one of the league’s greatest players in Kevin Garnett. KG has vowed to play out the season like they’re the last games of his career (last in Minnesota, maybe), but his squad’s uninspired play could make these final weeks completely forgettable.
Both of these teams have struggled mightily throughout the season’s stretch run. Minnesota has won only five of its past 20, while the Knicks have lost eight of their last ten. New York has fallen 2.5 games out of playoff contention with eight games remaining, and shows no sign of recovery.
The Timberwolves have been an absolute punching bag on the road, with a brutal 11-27 mark. The Knicks have been respectable at Madison Square Gardens, with a record of 19-19. When betting ATS, be sure to keep Minnesota’s 9-28 record on the road and NY’s 19-17-1 record at home in mind.
In a battle of second-rate NBA teams, I see Garnett giving an outstanding effort, as usual, only to have his team let him down. The T’Wolves come up short…again.
