NBA Eastern Conference Finals - Game 5 Free Picks

It's a massive Game 5 from the TD Garden in Boston, where the Eastern Conference Finals will feature the home Celtics and the road Cavaliers. The home team has won every game in this series so far, with Boston winning the first two games, and the Cavs heading back to The Land and dominating in Games 3 and 4.

Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum continue to step up and fill the void left by Irving and Hayward. Together, they're averaging over 35 points per game in the postseason.

Scary Terry Rozier has been solid for Boston with 17 points and nearly 6 assists per game. The Celtics are led by Brad Stevens, who has been a mastermind as a head coach, but there is a little bit of a monkey on his back, as he has yet to eliminate LeBron and the Cavaliers.

The story for the Cleveland Cavaliers starts and stops with the King. Without LeBron, this Cavs team missed the playoffs altogether. Throw in James and his 40+ on any given night and he poses a real danger to any opponent. James is averaging over 32 points per game and close to 9 assists per game this postseason.

But he can't do it alone. Love is a wildcard, and needs to come through if Cleveland is going to win on the road.

Remember, this is a team that struggled at times throughout the regular season. They made a few deals at the deadline, and are a rag tag looking basketball team. In saying all that - Cleveland is seeking their fourth straight trip to the NBA Finals. The Cavs have played Golden State in the NBA Finals all three seasons thus far.

Look for Cleveland to buck the trend. LeBron aside, the Cavs are going to need to pull their weight in order to win in Boston. The Celtics are one of the best home teams in the NBA.

I'm betting that the Cavs build on their momentum and newly gained confidence and come through in Game 5. Take the Cavaliers over the Celtics on Wednesday.
