NBA Expert Picks - Tuesday Night Parlay

Oklahoma City gave a valiant effort as home dogs of 3 ½ points on Sunday when losing 102 to 89. The Thunder didn’t win the game or beat the spread, but what they did do was show that they are on their way to respectability.
After all, it took LeBron James’ 44 points for the Thunder to lose by 13. That was LeBron’s best shooting night of the season so far. Kevin Durant, Oklahoma City’s version of LeBron, pitched in 29 in the defeat.
Durant and his teammates travel to Denver to take on another top team on Monday night. Will the Thunder have better luck in Denver than they did on their home court on Sunday?
In the night’s other top BetUS NBA betting game, the New Orleans Hornets take on the Dallas Mavericks in the longhorn state.
Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Denver Nuggets
Tip-off: 9:00 pm EST
BetUS NBA Odds: Denver -9 ½, Total 209
Analysis: Surprisingly, Oklahoma City has had terrific success against the Nuggets ATS. The Thunder is 5 and 0 ATS versus Denver the last 5 times the two teams have met. The Thunder is also 5 and 0 against the spread in their the last 5 games following a straight-up loss of 10 points or more.
Those are two powerful trends. One trend, though, that might sway bettors is the fact that Oklahoma City is just 1 and 4 ATS against teams with a winning percentage above 60%.
That could be a difficult trend for the Thunder to overcome because the Nuggets have lost 3 games in a row ATS, a trend not likely to continue as Denver is 7 and 4 against the spread at home. Denver has the #1 ranked offense in the league averaging over 108 points per game.
Oklahoma City is averaging 97 points per game, coming off of a tough loss to Cleveland, and facing the well rested Nuggets on their home court.
But the trends are all over the place win wise in this game. Perhaps, it would make more sense for bettors to look to bet on the total in this game.

The Over is 7 and 0 in Oklahoma City’s last 7 games versus a team with a winning straight-up record. The Over is 4 and 1 in the Denver Nuggets last 5 games versus a team with a winning straight-up record. The Over is 20 and 7 in the last 27 meetings between these two teams.
Denver allows 101.6 points per game and teams shoot, on average 45% against them. Durant and Jeff Green for the Thunder should be able to put up a lot of points against Denver’s defense while Denver will score at will.
The bet is on the over in this game.

New Orleans Hornets vs. Dallas Mavericks
Tip-off: 9:00 pm EST
BetUS NBA Odds: Dallas -8, Total 195
Analysis: The New Orleans Hornets haven’t covered or beaten a spread in 4 straight games. Worse than that is the fact that New Orleans is only 1 and 5 in their last 6 games.
Even with a terrible trend like that against them, the Hornets have shown signs of life recently winning 3 out of their last 4 straight-up. When it comes to playing the Mavericks, New Orleans actually has done very, very well recently. Head to head, the Hornets are 4 and 1 against the spread in their last 5 games against Dallas. They’ve also gone 5 and 1 ATS in their last 6 games as the underdog.
Dallas has had their own issues against the spread recently, going 1 and 4 in their last 5 games overall, and are particularly susceptible to loses ATS at home where they are 4 and 7 this season.
With Chris Paul back, New Orleans is starting to get it together. They may not be covering spreads, but just winning is a good start and they face a team in the Mavericks who aren’t exactly tearing it up at home ATS. So, the Hornets figure to be a good play in this game with the points.
That’s the way I’m going.
Pick: New Orleans +8
