NBA FREE PICKS – Clippers at Lakers

The Los Angeles Clippers are both battling for a playoff spot, but it seems like neither team has any interest in making it to the postseason.
The Clippers, who held the eighth seed as early as Monday, have lost three straight games and have coughed up the final playoff spot and dropped to ninth.
The Lakers, who at one point looked like they might challenge for the fifth-seed in the Western Conference, have lost six of their last eight games and are now hold a fragile two-game lead on eight-seeded Golden State.
To say that both teams need a win is an understatement.
The Lakers have owned this series since 1996, posting a straight up record of 33-10 against the Clippers. They have only lost four of the last 21 meetings.
Even so, this Lakers team has been on a slip-n-slide in the second half of the season. They are 12-20 overall and only 9-21-2 against the spread in the second half of the season.
The Clippers are listed as the underdog and have not fared well in that role this season. They are 7-27 straight up and 10-24 against the spread as a dog.
