NBA Game Odds: Celtics vs Bucks

Bookmark and Share by Aaron Torres

The Boston Celtics have been one of the NBA’s best teams on the season, and currently sit at third place in the Eastern Conference. But they’ve also been a headache to bettors, as few teams worse against the spread. They’ll try to improve on that in Tuesday night’s NBA betting odds.

Boston Celtics (40-21 SU, 24-36-1 ATS) at Milwaukee Bucks (33-29 SU, 40-21-1 ATS)

Tuesday, March 9: 8:00 p.m. EST

NBA Betting Odds: Milwaukee -1

Here are some Betting Trends which may impact this game:

Boston: Total has gone UNDER in their last three games
Boston: 3-1 ATS in their last 4 games

Milwaukee: 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games
Milwaukee: Total has gone UNDER in 4 of their last 5 games

On Tuesday, the Celtics will head to Milwaukee, to take on one of the surprise teams in all of the NBA, the Milwaukee Bucks. Despite being young, and somewhat inexperienced, the Bucks are right in the mix for a playoff spot, and could sneak in before all is said and done.

The resurgence of basketball in Milwaukee has been thanks in large part to one man, rookie point guard Brandon Jennings. While Jennings came into the league with questions about his attitude, he’s been a Godsend for the Bucks, as he’s been the star this team’s been lacking for years. He leads the Bucks with over six assists a game, while averaging 15 points a game too. Milwaukee was also active at the trade deadline, making a big acquisition in forward John Salmons from Chicago. Salmons is averaging 17 points per game on the season, and has given the Bucks the scoring punch they lacked for the first 55 games of the season.

As for Boston, if they are going to win on Tuesday night, it will have to come on the defensive end. As inconsistent as Boston has been offensively, their defense has never been a problem. They lead the NBA, giving up 93 points per game. Their field goal percentage is ranked seventh league wide as well.

The bigger concern for Boston is offensively, where they just aren’t scoring the ball as easily as in years past. They average just 98 points a game, and were only able to put up 86 in a narrow victory over Washington on Sunday. Superstars Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett have been limited this year by nagging injuries as well.

It’s no secret that Boston is not a good team to bettors, when they’re playing perceived “weaker competition.” Because of that take the Bucks.

Milwaukee has been one of the safest plays in the NBA in 2010, and should continue that streak Tuesday night. They are 5-0 against the spread in their last five games, and will make that six for six against Boston.

Take the Bucks in Tuesday’s betting odds.
