The Golden State Warriors (3-6 SU, 4-5 ATS, 5-4 O/U) are finally rid of a swingman Stephen Jackson, a player they say was at the root of their many problems.

Now, the ‘new-look’ Warriors, who acquired veterans, Raja Bell and Vladimir Radmanovic in exchange for Jackson and point guard Acie Law, will take on LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers (7-3 SU, 5-5 ATS, 4-6 O/U) and I’ve got a hint.

It’s not going to be pretty pro basketball bettors.

The Cavaliers have heated up in a big way recently, winning four straight games coming into this contest while the Warriors have alternated wins and losses in each of their last five games.

The Cavaliers beat the Utah Jazz 106-106 on Saturday while the Warriors lost to the Milwaukee Bucks as rookie point guard Brandon Jennings torched Golden State for a whopping 55 points.

Here is a look at some key trends for tonight’s ballgame:

  • Warriors are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 vs. Eastern Conference.
  • Cavaliers are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record.
  • Under is 6-1 in Warriors last 7 games following an ATS win.
  • Under is 4-0 in Cavaliers last 4 games following an ATS loss.

Analysis: The Warriors are going down tonight, but something tells me they narrowly manage to cover the high point spread in this one as the Cavaliers just don’t really possess the type of high-powered offense that makes for a lot of routs.

The final margin is going to be very close tonight, but something tells me the Warriors narrowly cover. Somehow, Golden State has managed to cover the spread in two of the last three meetings against the Cavaliers while also going a strange, but robust 5-1 against the spread in their last six games against Eastern Conference ballclubs.

Call me crazy, but I’m taking the Warriors to narrowly cover the spread.
