L.A. has won seven straight games coming into tonight’s contest and have the undeniable look of a team that is on a mission to get back to the NBA Finals this season.

Tonight, the Lakers will host a Miami Heat (10-8 SU, 8-10 ATS, 8-10 O/U) team that has mostly played above its talent level this season, but will be looking to bounce back from an emphatic pounding in their last contest.

Dwyane Wade scored a team-high 25 points and added 10 rebounds for a double-double in the loss, but got almost no help from his teammates as only second-year forward Michael Beasley reached double figures in scoring with 17 points.

The pair shot a dismal 15-for-39 from the field while the Heat allowed six Denver players to reach double figures in scoring while shooting a scorching 9-for-17 from three-point distance.

The Lakers man-handled the New Orleans Hornets on Tuesday night, winning 110-99 but narrowly failing to cover the NBA point spread as 14.5-point home favorites.

Young center Andrew Bynum scored a team-high 21 points to lead five L.A. players in double figures in scoring.
