The Chicago Bulls. The Hawks have lost seven of their last eight meetings in Chicago and are currently in a road slump, loosing 4 of 5 games away from Atlanta. The BetUS line has Chicago listed as the favorite and the over/under at 198.5 points. The intriguing line in my opinion is Atlanta’s team over/under sits at 97 points, and Chicago gives up well over 100 points per game. Atlanta can put the ball in the basket as Joe Johnson is having a strong season, 10th in the NBA in scoring with 22.2 ppg, and gifted athlete Josh Smith is a match-up nightmare for the Bulls. Atlanta will however be missing starting center Al Horford, but this loss will be felt most on the defensive end of the court as he barely scores 10 points per game, it will be his blocks and rebounding that will be sorely missed. This will be a close game in Chicago, both teams are up and down in the new year, but count on Atlanta to go over the BetUS O/U of 97 points.
NBA free pick: Atlanta over 97 points
A team that is on a roll scoring points but not winning games is the San Antonio to focus on defense once again and keep it under the BetUS over/under of 208 points.
NBA free pick: under 208 points
In the 2 late games tonight we have two brutal road teams, Utah is 16-4 at home this season, but the Minnesota Timberwolves are red hot entering tonight’s contest. They have won 8 of their last 10 games, and probably don’t deserve to be a BetUS underdog of 8.5 points. This could be closer than many people think.
NBA free pick: Denver straight-up, Minnesota +8.5
