NBA Playoffs Free Betting Picks - Houston vs Utah - Game 5

Much like the other Western Conference series - this series is on the verge of ending in five games. The top-seeded Houston Rockets are back home and will take on the Utah Jazz. The Jazz have been a fun story with their first round series win over the Oklahoma City Thunder. They even pulled a major surprise winning Game 2 in Houston.

Since that loss, the Rockets have blasted past the Jazz by 21 and 13 points in the last two games. Utah averaged just 89.5 points in the two losses. The Houston, are 11 point home favorites in Tuesday's Game 5.

Rockets Looking Forward to Western Conference Finals

James Harden is going to win MVP honors for the 2018 season. Harden is a massive reason the Rockets are the top seed in the West. The Beard averaged over 29 points and 8 assists per game during the regular season.

When it's not Harden controlling the ball, Chris Paul captains the ship. Paul is an extremely gifted point guard that will go down as one of the best to do it.

The Rockets are in complete control of this series. They're the only team in the West ready to take on the Golden State Warriors. What makes Houston's chances even better is the fact that they'll have home court advantage. Be ready to make some money on them as home dogs. As for the current series, they're just too much for Utah.

Utah Deserves Credit

Donovan Mitchell has been tremendous, especially since Utah lost Ricky Rubio. Unfortunately, Rubio's injury signed Utah's pink slip in this series. When going up against such a skilled franchise, you need all the help you can get and losing your starting point guard is never part of the plan. Rubio is not an elite scorer, but the dude can take care of the basketball and run the offense. That was a terrible loss for the Jazz.

Let's be honest - the rest of the Jazz roster is a bit of a rag tag. Jae Crowder, Joe Ingles, Rudy Gobert and Royce O'Neal are the starters. You can grab Derrick Favors off the bench, but the roster is not elite. In saying that - the Jazz will compete for awhile, because that's what they do - but the game is 48 minutes.

Rockets Eliminate Jazz
Quin Snyder has done a great job as head coach of the Jazz. There are not many people that would predict Utah would have made it this far. In fact, most probably thought the Jazz would miss the postseason. Then - the Jazz were mega underdogs against the fearsome threesome of Oklahoma City. Give Utah a ton of credit for their ability to play, and play hard.

Donovan Mitchell is a stud. But, unfortunately, that's not enough. For every Donovan Mitchell play, you get one from James Harden, another from Chris Paul and a third from Clint Capela. The Jazz just do not have the horses to keep up with the Houston Rockets. Take the Houston Rockets. Houston -11 over Utah.
