NBA Saturday Betting - Utah Jazz vs. Memphis Grizzlies

The only Western Conference match-up on Saturday does not promise the usual fireworks as Utah travels to Memphis to take on the Grizzlies. Both teams have a game on Friday night which means the outcome of this Saturday match-up could be determined by Friday night’s action. The BetUS line that I have predicted is based on the Jazz playing a tough game versus the Houston Rockets on Friday.
Because there is no way at this point to determine what will happen in either the Utah or Memphis games on Friday night, let’s give us a BetUS point spread range of – 10.5 thru – 14.5.
Why so high? Well, the Grizzlies are – 13 point underdogs versus the Houston Rockets on Friday night and the Rockets are without Yao Ming. Utah should go into their game versus Memphis very healthy which means they should be a huge favorite on Saturday.
Here are some trends that are specific to this game:
The Utah Jazz are 5 and 0 against the spread in their last 5 games versus a team from the NBA Southwest.
The Memphis Grizzlies are 2 and 5 against the spread in their last 7 games playing on 0 days of rest.
The Road Team is 4 and 1 against the spread in the last 5 meetings between these two teams.
The trends favor the Utah Jazz and unless something happens in New Orleans to change my mind, I favor the Jazz as well. The Jazz are only 3 and 7 against the BetUS spread in their last 10 games, but have been winning straight-up. The last time they met the Grizzlies the Jazz beat them by an alarming 19 points.
Memphis had what I like to call a “fire-sell” earlier this year, unloading Pau Gasol to the Lakers for Kwame Brown and Stromile Swift to the New Jersey Nets for Jason Collins. Memphis still has a terrific young player in Rudy Gay and a soon to be fantastic point-guard in Mike Conley Jr., but compared to the starting line-up that Utah boasts, the Grizzlies are downright amateurish.
The BetUS predicted basketball line is Utah Jazz – 12.5 against the spread on the road versus the Memphis Grizzlies.
Utah has a tough game versus the Grizzlies stick around in this Saturday Western Conference match-up.
My money will be on Utah to cover whatever the BetUS spread ends up.
