Oklahoma City Thunder (+5 1/2)

This time last year Oklahoma was really, really bad at playing basketball. This year, they have started to come around slightly, keeping games close, but are still too young to put forth a full game, and have no idea how to close out games. The Jazz come in to tonight’s game on a 4 game winning streak, all at home and go on a road trip starting in OKC. Coach Sloan is just too damn demanding to allow a streaking Jazz team to take Oklahoma lightly.

NBA free pick: Utah straight-up (moneyline -230)

Dallas Mavericks (+4 ½)

In a rematch of last season’s first round playoff meeting, New Orleans heads to Dallas in a battle of Western Conference foes both having won 4 games this season. Dallas has allowed an average of 105 points while scoring 99.6. Similarly, New Orleans has allowed 101.4 and scored 101.6. These stats prove that both teams can fill the basket with their share of points, however keeping the opposing team under triple digits is not their forte. BETUS posts an over/under of 189 points.

NBA free pick: OVER (189)

San Antonio Spurs (-2 ½)

Both teams match-up well and both take defense very seriously. San Antonio only gives up an average of 93.6 points per game, while Los Angeles gives up an equally stingy 98.9 points per game. Each team will emphasize strong defense to win the game, and even though Los Angeles typically scores a lot of points, they will be focused on defense, and the tempo will be quite slow tonight in San Antonio. It will be a close game, BetUS Sportsbook point spread is 2.5 points, but in a game where points will be at a premium, the BETUS over/under of 200.5 looks likely. As long as this close game doesn’t go into overtime, both teams will be focused on keeping each other under 100 points.

NBA free pick: UNDER (20.5)
