NBA Game Of The Week: Milwaukee Bucks vs Boston Celtics

Milwaukee Bucks vs. Boston Celtics
Thursday, November 1st - 8:00pm ET - TD Garden
Betting Line: TBD

The Milwaukee Bucks are the only undefeated team remaining left in the NBA. The Bucks have won almost every game handily. They're posting the NBA's highest point differential (+15.9). They're also winning by an average of 14.4 points per game.

Giannis Antetokounmpo, who is averaging 25 points, 14.2 rebounds, 5.7 assists, and 1.7 blocks per game played just 19 minutes on Saturday versus Orlando. He managed to score 21 points in the limited time. An inadvertent elbow by Magic forward Aaron Gordon has placed the Greek Freak on the NBA's concussion protocol, where is is now listed as day-to-day. Giannis got off to a hot start this season. Through the first four games, he averaged 28.5 points and 16.5 rebounds per game.

Even without Antetokounmpo, the Bucks still trounced the Raptors on Monday night. The Bucks held Toronto to just 38% from the field and 20% from downtown. They shot 49% from the field themselves with 42% from three point range. Their 19 made threes tied a franchise record for the second time in three days.. Milwaukee saw production from several players. Seven players scored double-digits. The bench combined for 49 points and 32 rebounds.

Milwaukee repetitively cut straight to the basket against Toronto. When the lane wasn't there, they kicked out to the perimeter.

Boston enters Thursday's game on a three-game winning streak. The Celtics are 5-2 this season, including a 2-1 home record.

The Celtics boast the NBA's stingiest defense, allowing just 97.6 points per game. They also rank second in opponent field goal percentage (39%), behind only the Milwaukee Bucks.

Boston is struggling offensively, however. They rank in the bottom three in points per game (29th), field goal percentage (29th), points per second (27th), and adjusted field goal percentage (28th). This team is all about defense.

Boston will need to see more production from Gordon Hayward. He's averaging just 10.2 points and 5.3 rebounds per game.

Milwaukee is better than the Celtics on both sides of the ball at this point in the season. I still expect Boston to represent the East in the NBA Finals at the end of this season. This is a team that needs to learn to play together with all of their pieces. Time should sort this out for the Celtics.

Kyrie bounced back from a 3 point, 5 assist game against Detroit last week to drop 31 and 5 against them just three days later.

Boston is 10-5 ATS vs Milwaukee since 2017. They're 20-10 SU vs the Bucks at home since 2004, including a 5-0 SU and ATS streak. Boston is also 3-4 ATS on the season.

Milwaukee is 5-1-1 ATS on the season to go along with their perfect 7-0 record.

My bet will be contingent on whether Giannis plays. If the Greek Freak suits up, take the Bucks. If they visit TD Garden sans-Giannis, it's Boston on the money line. Either way, we should be in for a treat this Thursday night! BET NOW!
