According to some of my “in” sources, Kobe Bryant is actually playing hurt. He won’t say it, of course, but he’s not the same on the on the floor as he usually is. There’s something different about his shot.
Most NBA wagering fans to take a hard look at the key players in the race to the NBA MVP!
Kobe was a shoo-in just about a month ago, but since then the Cleveland Cavaliers and King James have proven to be a top contender in the NBA Eastern Conference. With King James doing his thing, Kobe has had to take a back-seat.
Let’s get to it!
Best Online Betting Interests to Win the NBA MVP
1. LeBron James, online sportsbook odds of less than 4 to 1. Why? Because Kobe is going to get hot and this figures to be a very long season for everybody. The Cavs should cool down some, but if that happens, LeBron just starts being LeBron and getting crazier out there. He’s definitely the King right now!
2. Kobe Bryant, Los Angeles Lakers - - fair online betting odds + 500 - - Every online basketball betting fan knows that Kobe is going to get healthy enough to be the most important player to his team in the NBA. As Kobe goes, so goes the Los Angeles Lakers against the online betting spread. They were 6 and 1 before Kobe started getting funny with his shot. I don’t expect the funniness to continue.
3. Kevin Garnett, Boston Celtics - - fair online betting odds + 750 - - Garnett is an outsider at this point to win the MVP, but he’s definitely good enough and there’s no questioning who the leader of the best team in the NBA is right now. I wouldn’t go with KG at online odds of less than 7.5 to 1, but he’s worth this top three spot.
4. Chris Paul, New Orleans Hornets – fair online betting odds + 1000 - - Paul is arguably the best point guard in the NBA right now. His team has started to win games and he can shoot, pass, rebound…whatever you need. But he plays in a small market and the love for the Hornets has sort of worn off. He’s still worth mentioning but he’s not a top three guy.
5. Derron Williams, Utah Jazz - - fair online betting odds of + 1500 - - Williams has kept the Jazz winning even though Carlos Boozer is out of the line-up. Just for that he deserves mentioning. But he’s been overshadowed by the brilliant play of Mehmet Okur who’s averaging 27 points a game. I like Williams in the end over Okur because Williams’s brilliance should continue to last. He’s got the same issue as Paul in that he plays in a small market.
6. Dirk Nowitzki, Dallas Mavericks - - fair online betting odds + 2000 - - Dirk has won it in the past which means he could win it again, and the Mavs are winning games but does anybody really expect Dirk and Dallas to keep this up? I like Dirk, always have, but this dude is going to have to average 40 to take over LeBron and Kobe on this list.
7. Tony Parker, San Antonio Spurs - - fair online betting odds + 3000 - - Tony has an outside shot to win the MVP but everything has to go right for him. For one thing, he has to outplay Tim Duncan, which doesn’t seem to be a problem right now. For another thing, he’s already got a hot wife. I mean, does he really need anything else? I doubt anybody votes for TP but he’s the only other fella out there who could win the award after the top six.
