We are getting closer by the day to what we all call March Madness. We are going to take a quick look as to how tough it will be for the committee to select from the ACC.
The ACC is looking like it will be the toughest one to pick for the selection committee and I am sure they are hoping that this muddy picture clears itself up. However, just because the ACC is the highest rated conference that doesn't mean that all its teams will get in. We already know that Duke, UNC and Wake Forest are in. But, the others that is where it gets a little tricky, there are 5 teams in the ACC that are on the bubble. The five teams Maryland, Georgia Tech, N.C. State, Miami and Va. Tech are all on that bubble.
Maryland has taken both games against Duke but has been swept by Clemson (tied for last in the ACC) and they have beaten only one team that could reach the tourney.
Va. Tech has beaten Duke and Miami but has lost to VMI.
Georgia Tech has beaten only one tourney team and that was Wake Forest.
Miami also has beaten only one projected tourney team and that was Florida.
N.C. State has swept Maryland and Georgia Tech but has done nothing inside the ACC and they certainly haven't done anything outside the ACC.
As you can see this is not going to be an easy conference to pick from. The ACC could have anywhere from 3-7 teams go into the tourney but Miami and NC have to finish very strong and with some noise.
Here are the Kings Picks for the ACC in the tourney:
Duke, Wake Forest, UNC, Maryland and Georgia Tech
