College Basketball Betting – Players to watch in the Midwest bracket

The Midwest bracket of the 2010 NCAA Tournament looks flat out nasty! Here are a number of players you should look out for when tackling the bracket for your upcoming college basketball betting picks.

Aubrey Coleman (Houston Cougars): The top scorer in the nation is as lethal as they come. If the Cougars are going to topple Maryland and reach the second round of the NCAA Tournament in a highly unpredictable manner, Coleman is going to need to do even better than his 25.6 points per game. The only encouraging thing for the Cougs is that they won the C-USA Tournament Final over UTEP in spite of the fact that their leading scorer only put up 13 points in 32 minutes).

James Anderson (Oklahoma State Cowboys): The Big XII is expecting to have a great showing in this tournament, but if the Cowboys are going to go anywhere, leading scorer F James Anderson is going to have to be lights out. He put up 27 points in his most recent college basketball game against Kansas State, which raised his average up to 22.9 points per game. Look for Anderson to be the difference if Okie State is to bounce Georgia Tech from the first round in March Madness.

Evan Turner (Ohio State Buckeyes): The AP's National Player of the Year already has to be considered one of the favorites to win the MVP Award of this tournament. The Buckeyes don't figure to get bounced early by any of their college basketball betting foes, and Turner is probably going to be the reason for that. The heart and soul for Ohio State averaged right at 20 points per game this year, and his team was practically flawless all season with him in the lineup. Everyone in the entire country is going to know where #21 in red is at all times, but it might not matter. He may be able to take over the tournament anyway.

Greivis Vasquez (Maryland Terrapins): Vasquez may be the best pure scorer in the nation, and he also may be the best Maryland Terrapin ever to suit it up for HC Gary Williams. He is averaging 19.6 points per game and 6.3 assists, which is fantastic for a guard who is 6'6" and can bang inside and grab rebounds as well. Even though Maryland didn't make any sort of a run in the ACC Tournament, Vasquez and company have been home resting. It cost the Terps some seeding, but Houston will face a very well-rested team and red hot scorer who has averaged 25.3 points per game in his L/4 college basketball betting battles.

Cole Aldrich (Kansas Jayhawks): On a team that might be the deepest in the nation, Aldrich isn't the best scorer, but he is the most valuable player. It's all the other things that he does that you should be taking note over, including blocking 3.44 shots per game, which makes him one of the best shot blockers in this tournament. Aldrich will probably perform better than his 11.3 points and 9.7 rebounds per game, and it'll all start on Thursday with what should be a romp over Lehigh.

Greg Monroe (Georgetown Hoyas): Over the last week, Greg Monroe probably made himself more money than any other player in the entire nation. He proved that he can be versatile from anywhere on the court, and even though his shooting range isn't fantastic, there isn't anything else that he can't do, including dribbling the ball up the court. He's one of a handful of big men that can really take over a tournament which is traditionally guard-oriented. Expect to see great numbers from a man who averaged 16.0 points and 9.6 rebounds per betting game this year.
