College Basketball Futures: Who are the possible #4 seeds?
by Mike Rose

Four seeds are typically ones that are prone to first round upsets in the NCAA Basketball Tournament. Some teams are moving on up towards that #3 line, while others are starting to crash down. Check out BetUS Sportsbook's March Madness Picks for the #4 seeds in the dance, including what bracket they would be playing in if the tourney started today and how they rank against each other in terms of ATS.
#1: Vanderbilt Commodores (12-10 ATS, 19-5 SU) - That blowout win over Tennessee probably moved the 'Dores up to the #4 line this week. Things are about to get a heck of a lot hairier for Vandy though, as four of these next five are all very, very losable outings. LSU gave the Commodores a run for their money on Saturday, and a poor effort like that against either opponent this week will result in a catastrophic loss. Still, this is a team that is solidly the #4 in the East Bracket going into President's Day.
Up Next: Away @ Ole Miss, Home vs. Kentucky
#2: Ohio State Buckeyes (13-13 ATS, 20-6 SU) - The Buckeyes have a great case to be on the #3 line right now, and they'll have their shot to prove they belong against two great competitors this week. Still, it's hard to get in front of Ohio State right now, as it has gone 9-1 SU and 7-3 ATS since F Evan Turner really got back into the swing of things after his December injury against Eastern Michigan. A 72-53 win in Champaign on Sunday was a huge boost and a pleasant surprise considering how hot the Illini were coming into that one. For the time being, Ohio State would likely be heading South because of Michigan State's spot in the Midwest.
Up Next: Home vs. Purdue, Away @ Michigan State
#3: Butler Bulldogs (11-16 ATS, 23-4 SU) - It's hard to think that the Bulldogs are already almost finished with their regular season slate. They haven't been beaten since December 22nd at UAB, but went just 1-2 ATS in three games this week. Butler could reasonably climb as high as perhaps a #3 seed in March Madness, but at this point, its resume isn't good enough to do anything but head West in what would be the bracket of death at this point. A win this week against Siena would arguably be bigger than the Horizon League Championship.
Up Next: Home vs. Illinois-Chicago, Home vs. Siena
#4: Michigan State Spartans (9-16 ATS, 20-6 SU) - Michigan State's three-game losing streak finally ended on Saturday at Penn State, but the damage has been done. A 76-64 loss at Purdue probably dropped the Spartans down to the #4 line from what seemed like a #2 seed just a couple of weeks ago. If you're looking for good March Madness picks though, Michigan State is still going to be a great selection, no matter if they are a #2, #4, or worse. However, if HC Tom Izzo has it his way, his team won't be stuck as the #4 seed in the Midwest for much longer.
