College Hoops: Big East Power Poll
by Mike Rose

The #1 team in the Big East was bounced on Saturday afternoon and suffered a pair of ATS defeats last week. Is Villanova still good enough to stay at #1 in the college basketball betting poll? Find out right here at BetUS Sportsbook.
1: Syracuse Orange (15-5 ATS, 23-1 SU) (LW: 2) A big second half rally led the Orange to a 71-54 win on Super Bowl Sunday over the Bearcats. Since that loss to Pitt, Syracuse is 10-0 SU and 8-2 ATS. It'll have a chance to put both the Huskies and Cardinals out of their misery next week at the Carrier Dome, where they are 7-4 ATS this season.
On Deck: Home vs. Connecticut, Home vs. Louisville
2: Villanova Wildcats (15-6 ATS, 20-2 SU) (LW: 1) It's hard to argue with anything the Cats have done this year. That loss at Georgetown on Saturday probably ultimately won't cost them anything come Selection Sunday. G Scottie Reynolds is on fire right now, averaging 20.9 PPG in his L/11. Nova may no longer be undefeated in Big East play, but it is still the team to watch for the rest of the year. Huge stop in Morgantown upcoming.
On Deck: Away @ West Virginia, Home vs. Providence
3: South Florida Bulls (15-6-1 ATS, 15-8 SU) (LW: 3) The Bulls may be the hottest college basketball betting team in the country right now. They shocked Georgetown at the Verizon Center midweek, and fired back by nearly upsetting Notre Dame in South Bend. USF probably won't make the NCAA Tournament, but it has everyone in the Big East taking notice as they’re not the pushovers they once were.
On Deck: Away @ Marquette
4: Marquette Golden Eagles (11-6 ATS, 15-8 SU) (LW: 4) Here come the Golden Eagles! Marquette roared to victories against both DePaul and Providence last week, and will now come home to take on a very dangerous opponent. However, if it continues its three-point shooting efficiency (42.4%, #1 in the nation), it will be a difficult team to knock off. Doesn’t get much better than taking in two of the hottest in the Big East go at it; definitely a sit back and enjoy type of game.
On Deck: Home vs. South Florida
5: DePaul Blue Demons (11-7-1 ATS, 8-15 SU) (LW: 7) Two more games, two more losses, but two more covers for the Blue Demons. That's six straight ATS 'W's for DePaul! Even though it has lost five of those six SU, DePaul has more than helped its betting backers get their mortgage payments in on time. There are eight days to prepare for a road test against the Pirates, but the Demons have covered three straight conference roadies. If given another heaping handful of points, you have no choice but to ride the streak!
On Deck: Away @ Seton Hall
6: Pittsburgh Panthers (11-8-2 ATS, 17-6 SU) (LW: 5) After suffering four losses in their previous five games, the Panthers roared to a huge 83-58 victory over Seton Hall at home. Watch out for the sandwich game this week, as Robert Morris provides an unusual out of conference break before the huge Backyard Brawl on Friday night.
On Deck: Home vs. Robert Morris, Home vs. West Virginia
7: Georgetown Hoyas (10-8 ATS, 17-5 SU) (LW: 6) What a topsy-turvy week it was for the Hoyas! They were shocked at home by South Florida, but turned around and took out Villanova in a big way on Saturday. Was the USF game just a sign of a poor scheduling spot? We may find out again this week in college basketball betting affairs against two of the lesser teams in the conference before the revenge bout with the Orange in two weeks.
On Deck: Away @ Providence, Away @ Rutgers
8: St. John's Red Storm (9-10 ATS, 12-10 SU) (LW: 8) St. John's has continued to freefall from the team that was 12-5 and hoping for a slot in the NCAA Tournament. Since then, the Red Storm is 0-5 SU and ATS and haven't stuck closer than ten points against any of its Big East opponents. Avoid this team like the plague!
On Deck: Home vs. Louisville, Away @ Notre Dame
And the rest...
9: Notre Dame Fighting Irish (8-9-1 ATS, 17-7 SU) (LW: 9)
10: Providence Friars (8-11 ATS, 12-11 SU) (LW: 10)
11: Rutgers Scarlet Knights (8-11 ATS, 11-12 SU) (LW: 15)
12: West Virginia Mountaineers (9-12 ATS, 19-3 SU) (LW: 13)
13: Louisville Cardinals (7-11 ATS, 15-8 SU) (LW: 12)
14: Connecticut Huskies (8-13 ATS, 14-9 SU) (LW: 11)
15: Seton Hall Pirates (5-10 ATS, 12-9 SU) (LW: 14)
16: Cincinnati Bearcats (5-13 ATS, 14-9 SU) (LW: 16)
