College Hoops: Big Ten Power Poll
by Mike Rose

The Big Ten race became a heck of a lot more interesting on Saturday night when the Illini took out Michigan State. Take a look at what that and another great week of NCAA basketball betting action did in this conference with BetUS Sportsbook!
1: Northwestern Wildcats (14-5 ATS, 16-7 SU) (LW: 1) Northwestern's two victories at home this week could only help out their NCAA Tournament position. The next three should all be wins as well, but the proof for this squad will be in the pudding at the end of February. The 78-61 win over Indiana marked the best offensive effort for the Wildcats since December 30th.
On Deck: Away @ Iowa, Home vs. Minnesota
2: Wisconsin Badgers (13-8 ATS, 18-5 SU) (LW: 2) The Badgers will shoot up the NCAA Tournament rankings after winning games against both Michigan schools last week. Wiscy has covered three straight games, but it's heading into a crucial home game on Tuesday night against one of the hottest teams in the conference. Unless the offense picks up the slack after being held under 70 points in six of their L/7, the Illini may be capable of springing the upset to halt their home winning streak.
On Deck: Home vs. Illinois, Home vs. Indiana
3: Michigan Wolverines (10-9 ATS, 11-12 SU) (LW: 3) Last week, we made mention that the Wolverines had the best ATS mark in the Big Ten. That was the only jinx they needed. Big Blue was hammered by both NW and Wiscy last week, and now it has to hit the road to Gopher country. The good news is that the loss in Evanston last week was the first away ATS loss for Michigan in conference, so maybe they can return to form.
On Deck: Away @ Minnesota
4: Indiana Hoosiers (10-11-1 ATS, 9-13 SU) (LW: 5) We figured the Hoosiers would give the Boilermakers a run for their money, and that's exactly what happened midweek in Bloomington. Three of the best teams in the Big Ten have all been covered at Indiana this year, and Ohio State may be the next team to feel the wrath of the IU faithful.
On Deck: Home vs. Ohio State, Away @ Wisconsin

5: Ohio State Buckeyes (11-13 ATS, 18-6 SU) (LW: 4) Ohio State's NCAA basketball betting fans weren't happy with two relatively close games against Penn State and Iowa last week, but at least those games netted two victories. The Bucks are in fine shape heading into the middle of February, but their next two are both on the road, where they’re just 1-6 ATS this season.
On Deck: Away @ Indiana, Away @ Illinois
6: Penn State Nittany Lions (9-11-1 ATS, 8-15 SU) (LW: 8) Penn State is still winless SU in Big Ten play, but at least it picked up a pair of NCAA basketball betting covers this week. Especially if Michigan State knocks off Purdue midweek, the Nittany Lions may be able to catch Sparty napping on Saturday, as this game means the world to PSU and very little to the Spartans.
On Deck: Home vs. Michigan State
7: Purdue Boilermakers (9-12-1 ATS, 19-3 SU) (LW: 6) Whew! Purdue survived a bad scare in Bloomington last week. It wasn't exactly a sandwich game for the Boilers, but it was a look-ahead spot, as the first clash of the year with the mighty Spartans was on deck. They've only covered one road game since December 12th, and Izzo’s kids won’t be in the best of moods after dropping a pair last week.
On Deck: Away @ Michigan State, Home vs. Iowa
8: Minnesota Golden Gophers (9-12 ATS, 14-8 SU) (LW: 7) The Golden Gophers failed to cover their sixth straight game overall and their fifth straight road game on Saturday at Penn State. These next four are all winnable and probably all must-wins for HC Tubby Smith’s squad to even think about dancing come March Madness.
On Deck: Home vs. Michigan, Away @ Northwestern
And the rest...
9: Illinois Fighting Illini (9-14 ATS, 16-8 SU) (LW: 10)
10: Michigan State Spartans (8-15 ATS, 19-5 SU) (LW: 9)
11: Iowa Hawkeyes (7-15 ATS, 8-15 SU) (LW: 11)
