Big 12 Power Poll - Jayhawks are Tops
by Mike Rose

Big XII Power Poll
1: Kansas Jayhawks (14-5 ATS, 20-5 SU) (9-1 ATS, 9-1 SU in Big XII) (LW: 1) No one can stop this Kansas team! The Jayhawks have covered everyone in the conference this year except for Colorado, but suffered their first loss of the season last week at Missouri. They still haven’t lost a conference game at home, so there’s bad news on the horizon for the Cyclones and Huskers.
This Week: Home vs. Iowa State, Home vs. Nebraska
2: Oklahoma Sooners (12-8-1 ATS, 25-1 SU) (7-3-1 ATS, 11-0 SU in Big XII) (LW: 3) Speaking of things that can’t be stopped, how about Oklahoma’s superstar Blake Griffin? Griffin went off for 40 and 23 on Saturday against Texas Tech in a 95-74 romp. The Sooners are a perfect 11-0 in conference, put will get challenged in Austin before what should be a classic showdown with the Jayhawks in two weeks.
This Week: Away @ Texas
3: Missouri Tigers (11-8 ATS, 22-4 SU) (7-4 ATS, 9-2 SU in Big XII) (LW: 2) Could Missouri be the top dog in the Big XII? They made a huge case for the top spot by beating Kansas last week, but didn’t cover the five-point spread in the game. Still, four out of five covers isn’t bad, and another sub-par foe is on deck.
This Week: Away @ Colorado
4: Texas A&M Aggies (10-7 ATS, 17-8 SU) (6-4 ATS, 3-7 SU in Big XII) (LW: 4) The Aggies were good enough to cover the 5.5-point spread in Waco last week, but haven’t been strong enough to compete with the big boys in the Big XII. Will things get better against their fellow Lone Star State schools?
This Week: Home vs. Texas, Away @ Texas Tech
5: Colorado Buffaloes (10-10 ATS, 9-15 SU) (7-3 ATS, 1-9 SU in Big XII) (LW: 5) The six-game cover streak for the Buffaloes came to a halt with a 70-42 loss in Ames last week. Their losing ways didn’t keep up though, as they responded by losing to Texas in overtime on Saturday. Could Missouri be the next scalp to come into Boulder? The Buffs are 4-0 ATS in their L/4 at home.
This Week: Away @ Nebraska, Home vs. Missouri
6: Nebraska Cornhuskers (7-8 ATS, 15-8 SU) (5-5 ATS, 5-5 SU in Big XII) (LW: 6) The trip to Missouri was an absolute disaster for the Huskers. They only managed 47 points to drop their points per game average to 53.3 points per game in their L/3. Nebraska hasn’t covered a spread away from Lincoln since January 31st, and with this week’s trip to Lawrence, things don’t look to improve any time soon.
This Week: Home vs. Colorado, Away @ Kansas
7: Big Dance, a loss this week could be crippling.
This Week: Home vs. North Carolina Central, Away @ Iowa State
8: Texas Longhorns (9-12 ATS, 17-7 SU) (3-7 ATS, 6-4 SU in Big XII) (LW: 9) Texas is trying its best to keep in the field of 65, and did well last week with wins over both Colorado and Oklahoma State. A signature in-conference win is still missing on their resume, but the Longhorns will get a huge opportunity this week when the Sooners come calling.
This Week: Home vs. Oklahoma
And the rest…
9: Baylor Bears (6-11 ATS, 16-9 SU) (2-9 ATS, 4-7 SU in Big XII) (LW: 8)
10: Iowa State Cyclones (8-11-1 ATS, 13-12 SU) (3-6-1 ATS, 2-8 SU in Big XII) (LW: 10)
11: Texas Tech Red Raiders (6-11-1 ATS, 12-13 SU) (4-6 ATS, 2-8 SU in Big XII) (LW: 11)
12: Oklahoma State Cowboys (6-11-1 ATS, 15-9 SU) (3-7 ATS, 4-6 SU in Big XII) (LW: 12)
