COLLEGE BASKETBALL BETTING – PAC-10 Power Poll
PAC 10 action was highly competitive for BetUS Sportsbook customers last week, and the following details how the action played out.
1: Washington Huskies (15-8 ATS, 19-6 SU) (8-5 ATS, 10-3 SU in Pac-10) (LW: 1) U-Dub did nothing wrong last week, blowing out both Oregon and Oregon State with ease for its third straight win both SU and ATS. Games in So-Cal next week are going to be brutal, especially since the Huskies are just 2-2 SU and ATS in their L/4 road games in conference.
This Week: Away @ UCLA, Away @ USC
2: Arizona State Sun Devils (14-7 ATS, 20-5 SU) (9-4 ATS, 9-4 SU in Pac-10) (LW: 3) The Sun Devils made a strong case to move up in the NCAA Tournament seedings by taking out both USC and UCLA last week. With their rivals from Tucson sitting squarely on the bubble, ASU would love nothing more than to push the Wildcats closer to the brink of the NIT this week by sweeping the season series.
This Week: Home vs. Arizona
3: Stanford Cardinal (14-7 ATS, 14-8 SU) (7-5 ATS, 4-8 SU in Pac-10) (LW: 2) Things keep getting worse for Stanford. The Cardinal is just 2-5 SU and 2-4 ATS in their L/7 games, and really need to get a move on in a hurry. If there are two teams in the conference that could help right a sinking ship, they’re both on the schedule this week.
This Week: Away @ Oregon State, Away @ Oregon
4: California Golden Bears (14-8 ATS, 19-6 SU) (7-5 ATS, 8-4 SU in Pac-10) (LW: 4) Cal ran its winning streak both SU and ATS to three games by beating Stanford 82-75. The win should put the Golden Bears right on the edge of the NCAA Tournament. A poor road trip to Oregon could change all of that, though. Cal can’t afford a slip in spite of the fact that it is 0-3 SU and ATS on the road since January 17th.
This Week: Away @ Oregon, Away @ Oregon State
5: Arizona Wildcats (15-10 ATS, 18-8 SU) (9-5 ATS, 8-6 SU in Pac-10) (LW: 5) The Wildcats may still be sitting on the bubble, but the fact that they’re 6-1 ATS and 7-0 SU in their L/7 should make a good case. The next three are on the road, though, and one way or the other, Arizona is going to need to find at least two to three more wins to complete its resume. The Wildcats are just 3-5 ATS on the road this season.
This Week: Away @ Arizona State
6: UCLA Bruins (12-12 ATS, 19-6 SU) (6-6 ATS, 8-4 SU in Pac-10) (LW: 6) Looking back at the entire body of work for the ’08-’09 Bruins, there are still plenty of holes. There aren’t many wins against Top-25 teams for UCLA, and losses against both Arizona and Arizona State won’t help its cause. An impressive 8-6 ATS home record will be on the line this week when the two teams from the Apple State visit Pauley Pavilion.
This Week: Home vs. Washington, Home vs. Washington State
7: Oregon State Beavers (9-10 ATS, 11-13 SU) (6-7 ATS, 5-8 SU in Pac-10) (LW: 8) Congrats to the Beavers for turning their program from a complete disaster to the ranks of respectability. They went on the road and put up a very respectable performance against the ranked Huskies, then took out Wazzou SU. Could Cal and Stanford be on upset alert this week?
This Week: Home vs. Stanford, Home vs. California
8: USC Trojans (10-12 ATS, 15-9 SU) (5-7 ATS, 6-6 SU in Pac-10) (LW: 7) That sound you heard might be the sound of USC’s bubble bursting. Three straight road losses still leaves the Trojans without a lot of bulk amongst their 15 wins, but the next four games are certainly almost all must-wins against fellow tournament hopefuls.
This Week: Home vs. Washington State, Home vs. Washington
9: Washington State Cougars (7-15 ATS, 13-12 SU) (4-10 ATS, 5-9 SU in Pac-10) (LW: 10) The Cougs nearly suffered the embarrassment of losing to Oregon State back on January 15th when they beat the Beavers 61-57 in OT in Corvallis. They finally faced that embarrassment once and for all on Valentine’s Day with a 54-52 loss at home to OSU as double-digit favorites. With losses both ATS and SU in four of its L/5 games, don’t expect Wazzou to be competing in either USC or UCLA this week.
This Week: Away @ USC, Away @ UCLA
10: Oregon Ducks (7-17 ATS, 6-19 SU) (3-10 ATS, 0-13 SU in Pac-10) (LW: 9) Just when you thought it couldn’t get any worse for the Ducks, it did. They only scored 38 points in a 67-38 loss at Washington State last week, and then followed that up by giving up a whopping 103 points to Washington. The last three home games of the season are the next three on the slate, but regardless, the realization of a winless conference slate is starting to look more and more like a real possibility.
This Week: Home vs. California, Home vs. Stan
