Boise State, the defending WAC champion, still has an opportunity to win 20 games, and they have to take three of their final four games to do that in the regular season. Revenge games against Fresno State and Nevada are upcoming for the Broncos, but first they have to worry about a team that will be looking for a little payback of their own, and at home no less.

Louisiana Tech beat the Aggies inside and outside on Thursday night, hitting eight three-pointers and getting 25 points and 11 rebounds from center Magnum Rolle. That broke a four-game winning streak for New Mexico State, which had shot 63% in its previous game against Cal State-Fullerton. The Aggies are not exactly unbreakable at home against the number (5-8-1 ATS), but they average 81 points a game in Las Cruces, so Boise, which has not exceeded 44% from the field in three of its last four, may have some work to do.

Interestingly, although Boise State has a better overall record, the Aggies are at 8-6 in the WAC, a half-game ahead of Boise State. New Mexico State has had more time to prepare, and the Broncos may be in some danger of looking ahead to the two-game home stand to close out the regular schedule, but Boise may have come up with a defensive formula in the previous meeting, an 87-84 win, holding the Aggies to 41% shooting, What needs to improve involves guarding against second-shot opportunities, as NMSU had 16 offensive boards in that game.

New Mexico State may get its revenge, but it won't be easy. Boise State has enough depth (eight players logging 17 minutes or more), three-point capability and steady shooting in the middle (Kurt Cunningham and Ike Okoye combine for 60% shooting) to keep this one close. We'll take the points with Boise State, the 6.5-point underdog in the BetUS NCAA college basketball sports betting odds.
