College Basketball Betting – Conference USA Power Poll

Conference USA should think about changing the conferences name to Conference Memphis during the basketball season since the Tigers have dominated this league for years (Link To: Last week’s C-USA Power Poll). That said; there are 11 other teams and this how last week played out for all

1: Memphis Tigers (18-10 ATS, 26-3 SU) (9-5 ATS, 14-0 SU in C-USA) (LW: 1) A 7-2 ATS record in their L/9 games was wrecked by Southern Miss for the Tigers. Still, there’s clearly no stopping them in conference, and though they’ll probably be the #3 team in the country heading into Selection Sunday, there’s probably no chance for a #1 seed. Anything less than a C-USA crown would be incredibly surprisingly, especially considering the fact that Memphis has won 56 straight conference games.

This Week: Away @ Houston, Home vs. Tulane

2: Central Florida Knights (14-8 ATS, 16-12 SU) (10-4 ATS, 6-8 SU in C-USA) (LW: 2) The Knights really should change their name to Jermaine Taylor and the Idiots. Taylor scored 73 points in two games this week. The Idiots only combined to score 55. No wonder why UCF has lost six out of seven games.

This Week: Away @ Tulsa, Home vs. East Carolina

3: UTEP Miners (14-10-1 ATS, 17-11 SU) (7-7 ATS, 8-6 SU in C-USA) (LW: 3) UTEP had a pair of very disappointing results for sports betting fans last week. They nearly lost at home to SMU as two touchdown favorites, then went on the road and lost to Tulane. For a team that still has modest hopes of winning the conference tournament, things aren’t looking so hot right now.

This Week: Home vs. UAB, Away @ Southern Mississippi

4: Tulane Green Wave (12-10 ATS, 13-15 SU) (10-5 ATS, 7-8 SU in C-USA) (LW: 5) The Green Wave have been playing good basketball and could be a real pain for some of the bigger boys in the C-USA Tournament in two weeks. They’ve won three straight games and covered six out of seven, but it’s hard to picture them even staying in the same zip code as the Tigers in Memphis this week.

This Week: Away @ Memphis

5: Rice Owls (11-10-1 ATS, 9-19 SU) (8-6 ATS, 4-10 SU in C-USA) (LW: 6) Did anyone see Rice going into Orlando and pulling an outright victory against the Knights? Not only did they upset UCF, but the Owls also took Houston right to the brink before losing a tight contest. They’ve covered seven out of eight and are peaking at the right time, and could become a factor in next week’s C-USA Tourney.

This Week: Away @ Marshall, Home vs. Tulsa

6: Houston Cougars (11-12-1 ATS, 18-9 SU) (6-8 ATS, 9-5 SU in C-USA) (LW: 4) The last time the Cougs covered a spread was back on Valentine’s Day. With four straight ATS losses (and just a 2-2 SU record in that stretch), the prospects of pulling the big upset over Memphis seems unlikely. Still, if there’s anyone out there that can steal the C-USA crown, Houston seems like a good candidate.

This Week: Home vs. Memphis, Home vs. SMU

7: UAB Blazers (13-15 ATS, 20-9 SU) (6-8 ATS, 10-4 SU in C-USA) (LW: 7) It’s going to take a miracle for the Blazers to make the NCAA Tournament now. With a bundle of teams from the big conferences vying for those final few tickets to the dance, it seems likely that UAB is going to have to win the C-USA Tournament to make it. If there are any hopes whatsoever, every game is a must-win from now through the conference final. Even then, 25-10 probably isn’t good enough.

This Week: Away @ UTEP, Home vs. Marshall

8: Tulsa Golden Hurricane (11-12 ATS, 20-9 SU) (8-6 ATS, 10-4 SU in C-USA) (LW: 9) Tulsa seems to have the inside track for the #2 seed in the C-USA Tournament. A home game with UCF should be fun, as the L/3 meetings between these teams have come down the finish. The only losses in conference play since January 21st were at UCF and at Memphis, and there’s no shame in either one.

This Week: Home vs. Central Florida, Away @ Rice

And the rest…

9: SMU Mustangs (9-11 ATS, 8-19 SU) (6-8 ATS, 2-12 SU in C-USA) (LW: 8)

10: East Carolina Pirates (7-13 ATS, 13-15 SU) (4-10 ATS, 5-10 SU in C-USA) (LW: 10)

11: Marshall Thundering Herd (8-13-1 ATS, 14-15 SU) (5-8 ATS, 6-8 SU in C-USA) (LW: 11)

12: Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles (7-16 ATS, 14-14 SU) (4-10 ATS, 4-10 SU in C-USA) (LW: 12)
