The Wildcats are on the bubble as far as their chances of getting a bid into the NCAA Tournament. Most NCAA Bracket watchers have the Wildcats making it, because of their ultra-tough schedule, but they’ve done horrible in Pac-10 play. That could be their downfall. They’ve gone 5 and 5 in their last 10 games against the BetUS spread, but have a winning 6-4-1 record on the road against the spread this year.

Oregon State is just a mess. Straight-up they have a horrid 6-22 record. In their last 10- games, the Beavers have gone 2-7-1 against the BetUS spread. That includes an almost impossible 0 and 5 against the spread in their last 5 games. They are, without a doubt, the worst team in the Pac-10 this year. Let’s take a look at some other trends:
The Arizona Wildcats are 5 and 2 against the spread in their last 7 road games.
The Arizona Wildcats are 7 and 17 against the spread in their last 24 games on a Thursday night.
The Oregon State Beavers are 4 and 1 against the spread in their last 5 games versus a team with a winning straight-up record.
The Home Team is 5 and 2 against the spread in the last 5 meetings between these two teams.
As bad as Oregon State is, 12 points is an awful lot to give up on the road. This is especially true in the Pac-10 where teams play each other tough no matter what the situation. The Beavers lost by 13 to Arizona the last time these two teams met, but that was in Tucson.
The problem for the Beavers is that they just can’t score. Against Washington they scored 59. This team can’t find the basket.
Even though Nic Wise is out for the Wildcats, Arizona should have plenty of scorers to cover this BetUS spread. They had better. They not only need to win tonight but they need to win big in order to ensure a seed in the NCAA Tournament.

Although I hate giving up that many points on the road, the Beavers just aren’t good enough to get more then 64 points against the Wildcats. The Cats should score at will with Jerryd Bayless running the show and Chase Budinger sliding to the basket.
