Bookmark and Share by Alex Lowe

Pittsburgh will play at home against two easy opponents to finish this season before the start of March Madness. Tonight the Panthers host Providence, who has lost 8 in a row.

Providence (12-16, 9-14 ATS) at Pitt (22-7, 15-9 ATS)

Providence has had an awful season and their defense is one of the worst in the nation, having allowed 81.2 points per game. The Friars come into this match with a 12-16 overall and a 4-12 record in the Big East record.

Providence Friars +11
Pittsburgh Panthers -11

Moving on to Pitt, after winning six of their last seven games, the Panthers enter tonight's game as a favorite to beat the Friars. Their last loss was against Notre Dame, 68-53.  Since then the Panthers won very important games against power house teams such as Villanova, Syracuse and West Virginia.

Another issue for the Pittsburgh team is not being able to score points.  The team average is 68.2 points per game this season,  but they have been winning games on the back of their defense which has only allowed an average of 61.7 points per game

Pitt has won its last five games at home, also has a 4-0 lifetime record while hosting Providence at the Petersen Events Center. The Panthers have won 15 of 16 matches at home straight up and 11-4 ATS against conference opponents.

And the Friars are 7-4 ATS in away games, 6-9 against conference opponents and 1-3 ATS after three or more consecutive losses, meaning that that betting on Pittsburgh might be a sure of a bet as they come.
