Big East Upset Alert – Notre Dame vs. #6 West Virginia

The Big East is now wide open and West Virginia is standing as the lone giant left in the field. When they slam right in to a giant killer from Notre Dame, things are going to get dicey. Considering that West Virginia barely escaped the clutches of the Cincinnati Bearcats last night in a 54-51 victory, there’s no way you can feel good about what will unfold tonight for the Mountaineers.
Notre Dame’s big win over Pittsburgh was a hard fought battle that highlighted their ability to play lockdown defense. They’re now 6-0 SU and are 7-0 ATS in their most recent games. And, as you can guess, they’ve pulled down the UNDER in 6 of their last 7 games.
Even more promising for the underdog bet tonight is that Notre Dame has owned West Virginia in the past. They’re a solid 7-3 SU in their past 10 meetings with the Mountaineers, and the teams have split the betting spread record 5-5 ATS equally.
The last time these teams met in January, Notre Dame upended West Virginia 70-68 and though the Mountaineers are a highly seeded team, all the big dogs in the Big East are becoming highly suspect.

Notre Dame can absolutely win this game, but if you like to play it safe then taking Notre Dame’s handicap is a great upset pick in the Big East Tournament. The Big East is wide open now and filling the gap is a surging Notre Dame team that nobody wants to believe in. Well you should and if you’re caught standing by West Virginia tonight then good luck.
