#1 Wisconsin Badgers (26-3) vs. #2 Ohio State Buckeyes (25-3)
Sunday, February 25 --- Value City Arena, Columbus --- 4:00pm EST
Sunday, the No. 1 Ohio State Buckeyes in what's shaping up to be one of the best matchups of the year.
Of course, the Badgers' 55-64 money-dropping loss at Michigan State on Tuesday may have taken some luster off their date with the Buckeyes, but this will still be a tremendous game with Big 10 title implications and national-ranking supremacy on the line.
As well, there's even more at stake in this contest: a Wisconsin win all but makes the Badgers a top seed in March regardless of what happens at the Big Ten tournament.
For the Buckeyes, a victory and Ohio State wins the Big 10 regular season championship and moves closer to a No. 1 seed in the Midwest Regional, and if you bet on sports, you'll have interest in all the seedings.
This will be a great measure of how far head coach Thad Matta's baby Buckeyes have come. Ohio State carries in a 12-game winning streak and a home-court win streak of 24.
Ohio State has an 11-game conference winning streak, the second-longest in school history. The streak is eclipsed only by the 27 in a row set by the John Havlicek and Jerry Lucas teams of 1960-62.
Ohio State center Greg Oden has scored in double figures in the past six games. The Buckeyes will need a big effort out of the 7-footer against Wisconsin, or the Badgers will take the win and cash.
Sports betting hoop's fanatics should know, heading into this one, that Ohio State has failed to cover the number in three of their last four games. Wisconsin has had three paydays and a push in their last five outings.
Wisconsin won the first meeting this season 72-69 in Madison. If Oden can come up big for the Buckeyes there will be a different outcome in Columbus.
