Arkansas is a team that probably deserves to be in the Top 25, even coming off a disappointing home loss to Mississippi State. After all, the Hogs have scored wins over Oklahoma and Texas, teams who were ranked 4th and 7th respectively at the time, and you are not going to find many teams in the country who are able to do that. Of course, one thing that must be considered is that those victories were at home, and the Razorbacks have not played a road game since back on November 26, when they beat South Alabama by two points in Mobile.

This team is in bounce back mode, but of all the locations in the SEC, they probably couldn't have picked a worse one than Oxford, where not only have the Ole Miss Rebels won 11 of their last 12 games, but have also been absolutely dominant over Arkansas, winning eleven of the last 12 times these teams have met, and covering the last eight at Tad Smith Coliseum. Last year it was a home-and-home split, as Arkansas won 75-69 as a 5.5-point home favorite, while Ole Miss took an 81-72 win as a two-point choice at the "Tad."

The loss of leading scorer Chris Warren was a big blow for Mississippi, but David Huertas has tried to shift himself into overdrive to make up for it. The junior from Puerto Rico, a Florida transfer, scored 16 points against the Gators in Saturday's 78-68 loss, but he was just 4 for 15 from the field. Huertas sometimes hoists shots without conscience, and has hit just 32% over his last four games. It's critical that someone else steps up as an offensive threat, because Huertas is the team's only double-digit scorer. Maybe Zach Graham, who had 14 last time out, provides some answers. or perhaps freshman forward Murphy Holloway (8.2 ppg). It had better be somebody. Another freshman, Terrico White, is becoming a liability, with eight turnovers against Florida.

Will Courtney Fortson be able to come back from an awful outing against Mississippi State? He'll certainly get more than a test on the defensive end against the rebel backcourt. The nifty freshman point guard made just two of 13 shots against the Bulldogs, and turned the ball over four times. He's not good from the free throw line (56%), but he's not alone, as the Hogs are just 65% overall.

Fundamentally speaking, Arkansas has edges, but it is a big barrier when you have to travel within the conference, and this venue has given these guys all kinds of problems. For that reason, we're going with Ole Miss, the 2.5-point favorite in the BetUS NCAA college basketball sports betting odds.
