Northwestern Wildcats (20-13 SU, 18-9-1 ATS, 17-9-1 O/U)
Rhode Island Rams (23-9 SU, 12-16-1 ATS, 11-16-1 O/U)
Northwestern 411
Wildcats are 8-0 ATS in their last 8 games following an SU loss.
Wildcats are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 non-conference games.
Wildcats are 8-2-1 ATS in their last 11 games as a road underdog.
Wildcats are 1-3-1 ATS in their last 5 road games.
Northwestern Wildcats has alternated wins and losses over their last seven games and fell to Purdue 69- 61 in the Big Ten Tournament quarterfinals at Conseco Fieldhouse on Friday. John Shurna scored a team-high 16 points and added six boards for Northwestern in the loss while the final score resulted in a push with the Wildcats being 8-point underdogs..
Rhode Island 411
Rams are 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games overall.
Rams are 2-6 ATS in their last 8 home games vs. a team with a losing road record.
Rams are 4-14 ATS in their last 18 games as a home favorite.
Rhode Island fell to Temple 57- 44, in the A-10 semifinals on Saturday afternoon snapping a two-game winning streak in the process. The Rams failed to cover the spread as 3.5-point road underdogs to fall to 1-3 ATS over their last four games.
Analysis: I’ve thoroughly perused each team’s wins and losses all season long and come to the conclusion that the Northwestern Wildcats are the correct pick to cover the big spread tonight against a Rhode Island Rams team that doesn’t have many quality wins this season.
I know Northwestern isn’t considered a powerhouse basketball program, but I genuinely believe that playing in the Big Ten has got to help them against slightly smaller hoops programs.
The Rams have struggled mightily to cash in for college basketball betting backers, going a dismal 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games overall and just 2-6 ATS in their last eight home games versus a team with a losing road record.
While the Rams have been busy going a dismal 4-14 ATS in their last 18 games as a home favorite, Northwest has been busy going a blistering 8-0 ATS in their last eight games following an SU loss, 5-0 ATS in their last five non-conference games and a bankroll-boosting 8-2-1 ATS in their last 11 games as a road underdog.
Maybe it’s me, but all signs are pointing toward an emphatic Northwestern ATS victory.
Expert NCAAB Picks: Northwestern +5 Points
