The Battle for the Big 12 has started and both Texas teams are battling it out for tops in the division. Oklahoma on Monday. The Longhorns (21-7) need to defeat A&M (24-4) and Kansas in its last two games, while the Aggies already have a victory over both Texas and Kansas.

The last time these two teams met, the Longhorns in the second-half winning the game 100-82. But the Longhorns have not lost since, playing behind freshman phenom Kevin Durant, who had 32 points and 10 boards against Oklahoma. Durant, if you have not heard, is the probable No.1 pick in this year’s NBA draft.

But Durant has competition for Big 12 player of the year in Acie Law IV, who is averaging 17.6 points per game, 5.4 helpers and 1.3 steals. The Aggies hold the edge in defense with 57.2 points per game against and have shot the ball better averaging 50.1 percent from the field.

The Longhorns have been averaging 82.2 points per game, but allow a glaring 70.3 points against on average. The key stat, however, is that the Longhorns have not lost to the Aggies at home since January 2002, winning the last five. With Durant and the home court advantage, look for the Longhorns to continue this streak and win this game in a tight shootout.
