NCAAB Betting Finale – Iowa State vs. #6 Kansas State

The Wildcats let a big game slip right through their incapable grasp. Their front court was swarmed by Kansas and though their guards combined for 35 points, foul trouble and a lack of toughness was evident from the big men. They’re still the second best team in the Big 12, but they have a lot to answer for as they play their final home game.
The loss to Kansas was the Wildcats’ first since they lost to the Jayhawks in late January. It was certainly their biggest loss of the season in many ways. It broke a three game winning streak against the betting line, and now the Wildcats are 3-2 ATS. Even worse, it was a damaging wake up call to Kansas State that it may not justifiably in the league of its fellow top-10 teams in the AP Top-25.
Fortunately for them, the Iowa State Cyclones aren’t one of those teams. With a win over Nebraska as their only victory in over a month, the Cyclones are just 1-8 SU and 5-4 ATS in their past 10 games overall. More recently they’ve been able to cover in their past two games as dogs against Colorado and Missouri.

The biggest issue for Iowa State staying competitive in this game is that Kansas State has to prove they’re still one of the better teams in the country. A win won’t be enough against the Cyclones. The Wildcats need to devour them plain and simple. Frankly, at this point it’s the only way of justifying their ranking.
Playing at home will be a big help, and Kansas State needs to bounce back in a big way. I suspect they will do so emphatically. With the final regular season betting weekend on tap this Saturday for many of the top teams, it’s statement time and they don’t get any easier than playing a bottom feeding team like Iowa State.
We need a big win out of you, Kansas State, especially if you our betting dollars behind you when March Madness begins.
