Parlay Betting:  One Elite Eight Game and One NBA Game on Saturday!

Game-day:  3/28/2009
Tip-offs:  Missouri vs. Connecticut at 4:40 pm est. and Phoenix vs. Utah at 9:00 pm est.

It’s time to put together a nice two team parlay for the weekend!  The Missouri Tigers upset the more highly touted Memphis Tigers on Thursday night to secure their place in the Elite Eight in the NCAA Tournament.

Now, they take on Connecticut in one of our top parlay games of the weekend. 

The other game that makes up our parlay pits the Phoenix Suns against the Utah Jazz on Saturday night.

Let’s take a look at the parlay.

Parlay Game #1:  Elite Eight
Connecticut Huskies

Analysis:  The Missouri Tigers battle the Connecticut Huskies with the winner moving on to the Final Four.  Missouri was terrific when beating Memphis in the Sweet 16 on Thursday while UConn was workmanlike in their victory over the Purdue Boilermakers.  I like the fact that Missouri is a big underdog in this at +5 ½ in the BetUS Sportsbook.  Against the spread, both teams were good this season, obviously, but the Missouri Tigers just have that Final Four feeling about them.  They beat Marquette, which was a tough game, and then stomped all over Memphis.  Missouri also beat Baylor, who is two games away from an NIT Championship, by 13 points in the Big 12 Tournament.  Connecticut hasn’t played a top squad yet in this tournament.  That could lead to their downfall. 

Pick:  Missouri Tigers at +5 ½

Parlay Game #2:  NBA
Utah Jazz

Analysis:  Why not put the Pittsburgh vs. Villanova game into this parlay?  Because that’s going to be too tough of a game to call where as the Suns vs. Jazz is a fairly easy game to predict.  Phoenix will try to run and the Jazz will run with them. The last time these two teams met they put up a total of 232 points.  The BetUS Total in that game was 228 ½.  I’m hoping that the BetUS odds makers don’t set the total at more than 230 in this game.  If they do, bettors might have to adjust.  If the total is set at 230 or less, then the over is the play.  I see both teams approaching 120 in this.
