Bookmark and Share by Eric Williams

The Duke Blue Devils (30-6SU, 17-17-1 ATS, 14-20 O/U) also winners of their first two tourney contests.

Both teams will be trying to pick up an SU and ATS win in the March Madness Bracket Here!)

Villanova spanked UCLA on Saturday, winning by an even 20 points, 89-69 to easily cover the spread for BetUS NCAA college basketball sports betting enthusiasts as 2.5-point favorites while the game played Over the posted O/U total of 144 points.

Blossoming senior forward Dante Cunningham scored a team-high 18 points to lead a whopping six Wildcats players in double figure scoring.

Duke held off a late charge from Texas on Saturday to win 74-69 in the second round despite failing to cover the spread as 7.5-point favorites.

The Blue Devils got a team-high 24 points from junior shooting guard Gerald Henderson while the game played Over the 139.5-point O/U total.

Here is a look at tonight’s key NCAAB betting trends, followed by my in-depth analysis and NCAAB Free Pick:

Villanova is 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games following a ATS win.

Villanova is 10-4 ATS in their last 14 games vs. a team with a winning percentage above .600.

Duke is 2-8-1 ATS in their last 11 vs. Big East.

Duke is 1-5 ATS in their last 6 NCAA Tournament games.

The Over is 5-0 in Wildcats last 5 Thursday games.

The Over is 4-0 in Blue Devils last 4 non-conference games.

Villanova Wildcats +2 -110

Duke Blue Devils -2 -110

Over 148 -110

Under 148 -110

Analysis: Clearly, with these two teams last meeting in 2000, history doesn’t mean much with this matchup. While a red-hot Duke team has won five consecutive games coming into this contest, I picked the Wildcats to win this contest in my tournament bracket preview and that’s who I’m sticking with.

The Wildcats have recorded some excellent wins over several quality opponents this season and I believe this will be another to add to their impressive resume compiled mostly in the powerful Big East Conference.

Villanova has superior athleticism in this matchup along with one of the nation’s best inside-outside duos with Dante Cunningham and Scottie Reynolds, not to mention several other talented players like the underrated guard Corey Fisher.

I like the Villanova Wildcats to win this contest and cover the spread.
