College Football Betting – Over/Under Win Total Projections
by Aaron Torres

Hey college football betting fans, who’s ready to get into the action?
It’s never too soon, and to get you started, let’s take at some team’s over/under win total projections heading into the season:
Alabama- Over 10 Regular Season Wins (-115) or Under 10 Regular Season Wins (-115): Where else could we start but with the defending National Champion Alabama Crimson Tide?
They return eight starters on offense and have the best coach in the game in Nick Saban.
But before you go rushing to take the over win total, remember that there is still a huge talent loss on defense (Who will make plays for the departed Rolando McClain, Terrence Cody and others), and this year’s schedule is much tougher than in 2009.
The Crimson Tide have to play road games at Arkansas, Tennessee, South Carolina and LSU this year and host Florida, Penn State and Auburn as well.
Still, with Nick Saban at the helm, the only play here is the OVER. Alabama hasn’t lost a regular season game in two years, and remember, as long as they lose just one this year, you’ll still be a winner.
Auburn- Over 8 ½ Regular Seasons Wins (-125) or Under 8 ½ Regular Season Wins (-105): While college football bettors are certainly bullish on the Auburn Tigers, this writer has his concerns.
Looking at the schedule, it’d be easy to peg Auburn for eight wins, with three essentially automatic one’s against Arkansas State, Louisiana-Monroe and Tennessee-Chattanooga.
But where would the other six come from? Home dates with Clemson, South Carolina, LSU, Arkansas and Georgia won’t be walks in the park, and neither will visits to underrated Kentucky and Mississippi State squads.
Plus, remember too that after a hot start offensively last year, the Tigers sputtered in losses to Kentucky, LSU and Georgia.
What will happen now that the SEC has had a year to figure out offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn’s offense?
Take the UNDER in this college football bet. While seven wins is likely, getting an additional two is hardly a certainty.
Notre Dame- Over 8 Regular Season Wins (EV) or Under 8 Regular Season Wins (-130): Now that the Charlie Weis era is over in South Bend, college football bettors are dying to know if Notre Dame is set for a return to glory.
This writer thinks yes.
For one, new coach Brian Kelly has simply been a winner everywhere he’s gone, including his last stop at Cincinnati where he is coming off back-to-back conference championships.
Looking at the schedule, it is manageable with the Irish’s only true road games this season at Boston College and Michigan State.
There aren’t many certainties out there for college football bettors, but this seems like one of them. Take the Irish to go OVER eight wins.
South Florida- Over 6 ½ Regular Seasons Wins (-155) or Under 6 ½ Regular Seasons Wins): For our final over/under look, let’s go way off the radar to South Florida, where Skip Holtz comes in as coach after several successful years at East Carolina.
While Holtz is no doubt an upgrade over the departed Jim Leavitt, it just doesn’t seem likely that the Bulls will be able to go over 6 ½ wins.
They lost a lot of talent off last year’s team, and face a brutal schedule that see’s them to go Florida and Miami out of conference as well as Big East favorites West Virginia and Cincinnati.
Take the UNDER in this wager.
