College Football Week 12 Recap - Prime Time Players

Bookmark and Share by Mike Rose

Big players step up in big games, and this week, BetUS Sportsbook takes a look at the top individual performances from last week's games that helped you cash winning football betting tickets against the college football point spreads...

QB Colt McCoy, Texas Longhorns: The Longhorns probably could've beaten the Jayhawks with anybody at quarterback on Saturday, but thanks to the performance of McCoy, the Big XII South was clinched in a big way. McCoy went 32/41 for 396 yards and four touchdowns, staking his claim to the Heisman Trophy in a year where the award is still very much so up in the air. McCoy is going to need to carry this team through its next two games in order to bring it to the National Championship. But if the Horns keep on rolling, look for McCoy to take a familiar seat in New York as a Heisman finalist next month.

QB Dan LeFevour, Central Michigan Chippewas: No one recognizes the importance of LeFevour to the Central Michigan program, but we'll take some time out to acknowledge his performance against Ball State this week. He went 25/28 for 343 yards and four touchdowns, and rushed for another 60 yards and a score on 14 carries. If not for what Tim Tebow is doing down in Gainesville, LeFevour would be considered an amazing freak of nature in college football, and he may be up for the Heisman Trophy. There aren't too many quarterbacks out there that can say that they have thrown for 11,999 yards and 96 touchdowns and rushed for 2,863 yards and 46 more scores in their career.

QB Case Keenum, Houston Cougars: Speaking of Heisman Trophy contenders, how about the game that Keenum put up against Memphis? Going 29/39 for 405 yards and five touchdowns without a pick isn't shabby at all. Much like LeFevour, Keenum's numbers are getting crazier and crazier with each passing week. Over the L/2 seasons, the Houston signal caller has thrown for 9,612 yards and 80 touchdowns against 17 interceptions and added another ten rushing touchdowns. A ton of teams in the country can't say that they've scored 90 touchdowns over the L/2 years as a team, let alone just with one player.

QB Jeremiah Masoli, Oregon Ducks: No one is going to confuse Masoli for a Heisman candidate, but unlike LeFevour and Keenum, Oregon's signal caller is one victory away from the Rose Bowl. Masoli had an up-and-down game against Arizona on Saturday night, but he ultimately got the job done, throwing for 284 yards and three scores and rushing for another 61 yards and three TDs. His final touchdown sealed the deal for the Ducks, as they captured a 44-41 victory in overtime. However, his team didn't cover the spread when it was said and done on Saturday night, so let's pay some respects to this guy as well...

QB Nick Foles, Arizona Wildcats: It wasn't Foles' fault the Wildcats couldn't find a way to stop the Oregon defense. Arizona's quarterback went 30/46 for 314 yards and four touchdowns against the Ducks on Saturday in one of the biggest games in the history of Arizona football. Unfortunately, the Wildcats won't be going to their first ever Rose Bowl this season, but Foles should hang his head high for earning Arizona bettors a much-deserved cover.
