NCAAF Odds: Arizona State Sun Devils vs. California Golden Bears

Bookmark and Share by D.S. Williamson

Two of the supposedly better teams in the Pac-10 play on Saturday in what could go a long way towards deciding which teams from the Pac make it to a bowl this year. The Pac-10 has been less than impressive this season as ASU, considered the second best team in the Pac-10 after USC at the beginning of the season, dropped a game to UNLV before getting beat by the Georgia Bulldogs. The Cal Golden Bears are 3 and 1 on the season but they should be 4 and 0. They dropped a game against the Maryland Terrapins. The Terrapins shouldn’t be able to beat the Cal Golden Bears. As far as their record versus the spread is concerned, the Bears are 3 and 1. That’s pretty good.

The ASU Sun Devils are 1 and 2 against the BetUS online wagering spread. There’s no way to write this - - the Devils have been a huge disappointment so far this season. They went into the season with the idea of actually upsetting the USC Trojans for supremacy in the Pac-10. By the looks of it, the Devils might be lucky to make it to a bowl game. For football betting fans, an online wager on the Sun Devils is an iffy proposition at best.

Here are the BetUS Sportsbook betting odds for this game.

Arizona Sate Sun Devils + 9 ½ - 110 + 320

California Golden Bears - 9 ½ - 110 - 400

Here are a few online wagering trends that might help us find a good online bet in this game.

The Arizona State Sun Devils are 1 and 4 against the spread in their last 5 versus a rival team from the Pac-10 Conference.

The Arizona State Sun Devils are 0 and 4 against the spread in the last four meetings between these two teams at California.

The California Golden Bears are 1 and 7 against the spread in their last 8 conference games.

The Home team is 8 and 2 against the spread in the last 10 meetings between these two teams.

The Sun Devils have to right the ship and right it soon or else they will end up crashing into the rocks. Another loss would spell doom for the ASU Sun Devils. Cal is a good team, not a great team, but the Devils have been playing awful football lately.

Could the bye week have helped them to get things going in the right direction? From an online wagering point-of-view, the trends say that the Cal Golden Bears blow out the Sun Devils up in Berkeley.

But I’m not buying it. I can’t when the BetUS online wagering spread is at 9 ½ points. That’s just too many points to give to a team like the ASU Sun Devils who have the ability to pull an upset.

Why get greedy, right? I’m going to take the points in this game and make an online bet on ASU to beat the BetUS online sportsbook betting spread.
