College Football Betting - SEC Power Poll

Nearly all of the SEC’s teams got off to fantastic starts to the 2009 campaign, but not everyone made their sports bettors happy. Find out how BetUS stacks up the squads going into Week 2…

1: Florida Gators (0-0 ATS, 1-0 SU) Yes, the Gators may not have racked up an ATS victory, but it’s hard to take the champs out of the #1 spot until they fail to cover a spread. Besides, rolling up a 62-3 victory over Charleston Southern was clearly impressive. It was just another day in the office for QB Tim Tebow and the Florida offense, as the unit ended the day with a whopping 624 yards of total offense.

Up Next: Home vs. Troy

2: Alabama Crimson Tide (1-0 ATS, 1-0 SU) The Tide rolled through Virginia Tech’s defense unmercifully drive after drive in Saturday night’s premier football betting showdown. Bama finished the night with a stunning 498 yards of offense, including a combined 240 yards from RBs Mark Ingram and Roy Upchurch. Even though QB John Parker Wilson and several key members of the offensive line have graduated, HC Nick Saban still looks like he has plenty of weapons at his disposal.

Up Next: Home vs. Florida International

3: South Carolina Gamecocks (1-0 ATS, 1-0 SU) The Gamecocks picked off a game NC State squad with an incredible defensive effort that saw HC Steve Spurrier’s defense hold the Wolfpack to just 133 yards of total offense. QB Stephen Garcia wasn’t overly impressive on the offensive side of the ball, going just 13 of 22 for 148 yards with an interception. If South Carolina can pick up a victory “Between the Hedges” next week, a lot of heads will turn.

Up Next: Away @ Georgia

4: Kentucky Wildcats (1-0 ATS, 1-0 SU) QB Mike Hartline had one of his more impressive performances as a starting quarterback last week against the Redhawks, going 18/27 for 222 yards and two touchdowns. UK’s ‘D’ pitched a very impressive shutout, allowing just 188 yards in the process. The battle of Red State vs. Blue State is up next, but a bye week is in the cards first.

Up Next: Bye

5: Tennessee Volunteers (1-0 ATS, 1-0 SU) HC Lane Kiffin has been making waves through his entire first offseason as a collegiate coach, and now he’s making news for running up the score in a 63-7 victory over Western Kentucky. It was pretty clearly that the Hilltoppers were no match for the Vols, but Tennessee never took its foot off the gas pedal, scoring 28 points in the fourth quarter. UCLA is the last test before Florida likely returns the favor for WKU.

Up Next: Home vs. UCLA

6: Auburn Tigers (1-0 ATS, 1-0 SU) The Gene Chizik era started with an impressive 556-yard outburst against Louisiana Tech. QB Chris Todd went 17/26 for 255 yards and two scores, but the day belonged to the rushing attack. RBs Onterio McCalebb and Ben Tate combined to rush the ball 42 times for 265 yards.

Up Next: Home vs. Mississippi State

And the rest…

7: Mississippi Rebels (1-0 ATS, 1-0 SU)

8: Arkansas Razorbacks (0-0 ATS, 1-0 SU)

9: Mississippi State Bulldogs (0-0 ATS, 1-0 SU)

10: Vanderbilt Commodores (0-0 ATS, 1-0 SU)

11: LSU Tigers (0-1 ATS, 1-0 SU)

12: Georgia Bulldogs (0-1 ATS, 0-0 SU)
