College Football Betting Trends: Bowling Green at Miami (OH)

Bookmark and Share by Al Simmons

The Bowling Green Falcons will look to build some momentum as they visit the 3 point underdog Miami of Ohio Redhawks at 6:00 PM ET at Yager Stadium in Mid American Conference clash this Thursday night.

College Football Betting Odds:

Bowling Green Falcons -3
Miami (OH) Redhawks +3
O/U 57

The Falcons upsets Buffalo last week 30-29 when QB Tyler Sheehan threw an 18-yard touchdown pass to Freddie Barnes with 39 seconds left. Miami lost their last outing despite playing better than everybody expected they loss 34-32 against Temple.

In order to avoid another upset the Falcons will focus on their air attack, they own 4th best passing attack in the entire nation averaging 354.4 yards per game. Expect Sheehan to look for Barnes (10 TDs on the season) in crucial circumstances including long third down situations.

The Redhawks passing defense doesn’t intercept a lot to consider them a treat against this good offense. They allow 191.6 yards per game

Miami must take advantage of being at home. In other to get the win QB Zac Dysert should avoid risky passes, he has been intercepted 12 times this season.

None of the Redhawks RBs have had a single 100 yard rushing game, that shows how poor their offense is; they will need a strong running effort even if they are playing against the second worst rushing defense in the conference.

I don’t think there is any room for an upset even if Miami is at home; Bowling Green is a better team is many aspects and they will show that Thursday Night.

Consider these college football betting trends: Bowling Green is 10-2 ATS in its last 12 games on the road and Miami (Ohio) is 5-1 ATS in its last 6 games. Also if you’re betting the game total remember it has gone OVER in 4 of Bowling Green's last 6 games but it has gone UNDER in 4 of Miami (Ohio)'s last 6 games.

My pick: Falcons will cover the spread. Over.
