College Football Week 5 Rankings - ACC Power Poll

Bookmark and Share by Mike Rose

After four weeks of the football betting season, it’s starting to become clear who the haves and the have-nots are in the ACC. Check out how BetUS stacks up the teams for football bettors…

1: Clemson Tigers (3-1 ATS, 2-2 SU) (LW: 1) Clemson really played its heart out on Saturday against the Horned Frogs, but the bottom line is that the Tigers just can't compete with the big boys in the country. More offense is going to be needed if Clemson is going to compete in the ACC. Conference play continues this week.

Up Next: Away @ Maryland (-13.5)

2: Miami Hurricanes (2-1 ATS, 2-1 SU) (LW: 2) It was a punishing weekend for the Canes. Not only did they get creamed by Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, but Florida State's outright loss to South Florida really took some oomph away from their previously earned wins. As a result, they plummeted in the polls and will now have to claw back in conference play to win the ACC Coastal.

Up Next: Home vs. Oklahoma (+7)

3: Boston College Eagles (2-1 ATS, 3-1 SU) (LW: 5) Have the Eagles found their quarterback? QB David Shinskie tossed three TDs in BC's 27-24 overtime victory against Wake Forest on Saturday afternoon. A victory over the Seminoles this week in Chestnut Hill could send a real message to the rest of the conference; a loss would send them back to the drawing board trying to reach a bowl game.

Up Next: Home vs. Florida State (+5)

4: North Carolina State Wolfpack (2-1-1 ATS, 3-1 SU) (LW: 6) The Wolfpack have certainly recovered from their embarrassing home opener against South Carolina. They came from behind on Pitt to notch a 38-31 outright victory last Saturday. NCSU has the #1 defense in college football, allowing just 201.2 yards per game. It'll need every bit of that defense to survive these next four games, three of which are on the road.

Up Next: Away @ Wake Forest (PK)

5: Wake Forest Demon Deacons (2-2 ATS, 2-2 SU) (LW: 3) Shame on the Deacons for coming from behind against Boston College and blowing it in overtime. The road to bowl eligibility is going to be tough, and if Wake isn't playing in December, its fans are going to be awfully disappointed.

Up Next: Home vs. North Carolina State (PK)

6: Virginia Tech Hokies (2-2 ATS, 3-1 SU) (LW: 8) Considering their only loss of the season was to the #3 team in the land, the Hokies are deservedly the top ranked one-loss team in America. They pummeled Miami at home on Saturday afternoon to move all the way up to #6 in the AP Poll. The schedule is very manageable from here on out, so HC Frank Beamer has to think that the National Championship is within reach.

Up Next: Away @ Duke (-17)

And the rest…

7: Duke Blue Devils (1-1 ATS, 2-2 SU) (LW: 9)

8: Virginia Cavaliers (1-1 ATS, 0-3 SU) (LW: 10)

9: North Carolina Tar Heels (1-2 ATS, 3-1 SU) (LW: 4)

10: Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (1-2 ATS, 3-1 SU) (LW: 11)

11: Florida State Seminoles (1-3 ATS, 2-2 SU) (LW: 7)

12: Maryland Terrapins (0-4 ATS, 1-3 SU) (LW: 12)
