NCAAF Top 3 Free Picks - Week 3

There are some great games on tap for Week 3 of college football. Conference play is starting up for some teams, and top-25 match-ups highlight a busy Saturday. Let's take a look at this weekend's top three college football games for my picks of the week.

Notre Dame vs. Vanderbilt +14.5

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish will host Vanderbilt this Saturday afternoon at Notre Dame Stadium. Vanderbilt hails from the SEC, but are not expected to contend in that conference. The Commodores have gotten off to a 2-0 start after blowing out MTSU and Nevada.

The Fighting Irish will present a big challenge on Saturday. Notre Dame is also 2-0 after victories over Michigan and Ball State. Notre Dame struggled at times in both win, partly due to inconsistent play from starting quarterback Brandon Wimbush. Notre Dame should be able to handle Vanderbilt on Saturday, but it will be a close game. Take the points and bet Vanderbilt +14.5 in this game.

Auburn vs. LSU +10.5

A pair of top-15 teams will meet for a pivotal SEC showdown at Jordan-Hare Stadium this Saturday. #7 Auburn comes into this game looking like a team that will reach the College Football Playoffs. Twelfth ranked LSU has also been impressive in the early going, especially after pounding Miami in their season opener.

The LSU defense has future pros all over the field. Their defense should keep this a low-scoring affair. Auburn quarterback Jarrett Stidham is trying to play his way into the Heisman Trophy conversation, but he faces a tough test in this one. A 10.5 point spread feels like it is way too big for this game. These two teams are not that far apart in skill. Bet the LSU Tigers +10.5 over Auburn in this highly anticipated game.

Oklahoma State -3.0 vs. Boise State

Another top 25 match-up takes place between the #22 Oklahoma State Cowboys and the #17Boise State Broncos. Both teams are 2-0, but neither team has really been challenged yet. Oklahoma State quarterback, Taylor Cornelius, has been impressive in his first season under center for the Cowboys. Cornelius threw for five touchdowns in the season opener. Oklahoma State will look to be aggressive on offense in this game.

Boise State just set a new school record for total yards in their last game against UConn. They need this win if they have any hopes of sneaking into the College Football Playoffs. This should be a very high scoring affair that might come down to the final possession. Look for Oklahoma State to get the win at home. Bet Oklahoma State -3.0 in this game.

Enjoy the games!
