In a game that could go a long way toward deciding the eventual BCS national champion, the Texas Tech Red Raiders (10-0 SU, 5-2-1 ATS), rated #2 in the country, will visit the Oklahoma Sooners (9-1 SU, 7-2 ATS), who hold the #5 BCS ranking, in college football sports betting action that is set to take place at 8 PM ET at Memorial Stadium (natural turf) in Norman, OK.
BetUS NCAA Football Betting Odds: OKLAHOMA -7
Here are some of the NCAA college football betting trends as they relate to this matchup:
* TT has covered four of its last six games
* TT has won its last 12 games SU
* TT has played its last six games OVER the total
* TT has won five of its last six road games SU
* TT has played four of its last five road games OVER the total
* OKLA has covered seven of its last nine games
* OKLA has played its last six games OVER the total
* OKLA has won 22 of its last 25 home games SU
* OKLA has played four of its last five home games OVER the total
Also....
* OKLA has covered five of the last seven meetings
* OKLA has won six of the last eight meetings SU
* OKLA has covered four of the last six meetings as the home team
It would certainly be a tremendous strong of wins for Texas Tech if they came away victorious here, as the Red Raiders will have beaten Kansas, Texas, Oklahoma State and Oklahoma. That still wouldn't give them a ticket to the national title game, because they would have to beat Baylor, then play Missouri in the conference title game, but there would be no team in the country with better credentials for the #1 position.
This is a matchup between two of the nation's best quarterbacks. Sam Bradford, the Oklahoma sophomore, is 67% accurate with 38 TD's and only six interceptions, and has a 10.3 yard-per-attempt average, which is second only to Oklahoma State's Zac Robinson. Graham Harrell, the senior from Texas Tech, has 36 TD passes and five interceptions, is 72% accurate and knows how to get rid of the ball, having been sacked just five times. At Harrell's disposal is perhaps the best player in the country in Michael Crabtree, who has 18 touchdowns among his 78 receptions. And there are six Red Raider receivers with 29 catches or more.
Bradford has an outstanding trio of receivers at his fingertips in Manuel Johnson, Juaquin Iglesias and Jermaine Gresham. Both defend well against the run, and Oklahoma has a bit of an edge in its ground game, though Texas Tech has achieved a great deal of balance this season with the duo of Shannon Woods and Brian Batch (1255 yards combined).
So is there something more substantial to constitute the difference between these two? Well, Oklahoma has 34 sacks, but we have to question the overall strength of its defense, inasmuch as the Sooners have given up 33 points per game over their last five. And Tech's defense has actually held up pretty well against the Jayhawks, Longhorns and Cowboys. Harrell and Company can do enough business to make this very interesting. So we'll grab the points with Texas Tech, the seven-point underdog in the BetUS NCAA college football sports betting odds.
