NCAAF Game of the Week - Texas Tech Red Raiders vs. Texas Longhorns

Bookmark and Share by Charles Jay

The Texas Tech Raiders, fresh off of a thrashing of the Kansas Jayhawks. The Red Raiders are simply a high-scoring, high-flying, super tough team that won’t be denied the end zone. Sports betting fans are going to have to be very judicious in deciding which BetUS online wager to make in this game. The Red Raiders might be the best team that the Longhorns have faced all season. The Red Raiders average over 550 yards per game. That’s crazy. The biggest reason is because of their awesome offensive line. Texas Tech has scored over 384 points. Out of 360 pass attempts the Red Raiders’ quarterback, Graham Harrell, has been sacked only three times. Amazing? Yes.

The Texas Longhorns are the number one team in the nation for a reason. Colt McCoy their starting quarterback, is as good as any college quarterback I’ve seen in years. He’s only thrown four interceptions this season as opposed to 21 touchdowns and he’s done it against some of the best teams in the nation like the college football betting fans rest easy on Friday nights. The Longhorns defense has been playing better as well although they did let the OSU Cowboys back into their game this past Saturday. The Longhorns travel to Texas Tech for this game.

Here are the BetUS online sportsbook betting odds for this game:

Kick-off: 11/01/2008 8:00 pm est.

Texas Longhorns - 4 ½ - 110 - 170 O 75 ½ - 110

Texas Tech Red Raiders + 4 ½ - 110 + 150 U 75 ½ - 110

Here are a few online wagering trends that might help us find a good online bet in this game:

The Texas Longhorns are 6 and 1 against the spread in their last 7 games versus a team with a winning record.

The Over is 6 and 1 in the Texas Longhorns last 7 games on the road.

The Texas Tech Red Raiders are 6-2-1 against the spread in their last 9 games on turf.

The Under is 6 and 0 in the Texas Tech Red Raiders last 6 games at home.

Another trend is that the home team is 5 and 2 straight-up in the last 7 meetings between these two teams. Texas is going to find this a very difficult game as this will be their fourth top ten ranked opponent in a row. The Longhorns squashed Missouri, and then beat Oklahoma and Oklahoma State. In Texas Tech they face a team with a phenomenal offensive line.

Things could get very tough for Texas in this game. Eventually, the schedule catches up with you. I just don’t see the Longhorns getting to Harrell in time before he can toss the ball down the field for first downs and touchdowns. I really love what Mack Brown has done in Texas, but the Red Raiders are just too tough right now.

I see this as an opportunity for online sportsbook betting fans to make some money on the money line. Texas Tech is as good, if not better, offensively than the Longhorns. The Horns defense had trouble with the Oklahoma State Cowboys. What are Harrell and the Red Raiders going to do?

I see Texas Tech coming out on top at + 150 on the BetUS online sportsbook money line.
