Game-day: 12/19/2009
The BetUS online sportsbook offers wagering on every single college football game this season as well as every NFL football game this season.
Most football betting fans no doubt are going to sit down early Saturday morning, or late Friday night, and make their college football predictions for the New Mexico and St Petersburg bowls on Saturday. Some already have. Every gambler has probably already handicapped the Saints vs. Cowboys game on Saturday night.
All three games offer terrific wagering opportunities for bettors. They also provide bettors with a nice parlay wagering opportunity. Let’s take a look at that right now.
Saturday 3-Team Parlay
Wager #1: New Mexico Bowl Wyoming Cowboys vs. Fresno State Bulldogs
Kick-off: 4:30 pm EST
College Bowl Pick: Over 55
Analysis: In Wyoming’s 6 victories on this season they put up a combined 173 points. In their 6 losses, all to ranked teams at one time or another this season, the Cowboys put up 30 total points.
Fresno State has only allowed three teams to score less than 17 points against them all season. On average the Bulldogs give up close to 28 points a game and put up on average 34 points per game. Don’t be fooled by the fact that Wyoming has lost 6 times in 2009. Again, those losses were to ranked teams. The Cowboys will put up at least 4 touchdowns in this game. Fresno State? They should put up a lot more.
I love over 55 in this.
Wager #2: St. Petersburg Bowl Central Florida Knights vs. Rutgers Scarlet Knights
Kick-off: 8:00 pm EST
College Bowl Pick: Under 44
Analysis: There are some trends that point to this game going over, Central Florida averages 26 points per game and Rutgers averages 27 points per game which equates to 53, but an overall analysis of this game points to the under.
Rutgers only allows, on average, 17 points per game. Their last two regular season games this season did go over but that was against Louisville and West Virginia. Central Florida has a better defense than either one of those teams, and 8 out of 12 Scarlet Knight games during the regular season went under.
Central Florida’s last 3 games have gone over but before that the Golden Knights played in a lot of under games. In fact 6 out of Central Florida’s 11 games during the regular season went under including a terrific defensive battle against the very good East Carolina Pirates.
This game should go under 44.
Wager #3: Dallas Cowboys vs. New Orleans Saints
Kick-off: 8:20 pm EST
NFL Odds: New Orelans -7 ½
Analysis: Throw trends out the window in this game except for the fact that the Saints, on average, put up 36.6 points per game in the dome. That’s not really a trend, it’s an awesome stat.
There are also a few key things to remember. First, the ‘Boys always play awful in December. Second, the Saints are 6 and 0 ATS against the spread against teams that they have played with a winning record this season. Okay, maybe there is a key trend to think about. Third, Coach Sean Payton taught Tony Romo, the Cowboy’s QB, how to play quarterback and created Dallas’s, or at least had a hand in the creation of the ‘Boy’s offense. Fourth, New Orleans’ defensive coordinator, Gregg Williams, coached against the ‘Boys many times when he was part of the Washington Redskins’ organization.
Do the Saints know how to beat Dalals? Yeah…I think so.
The Saints will roll in this game.
