College Football Betting – Big XII South Power Poll

Bookmark and Share by Mike Rose

1: Oklahoma State Cowboys (8-0 ATS, 8-1 SU) The Cowboys are the only undefeated team for college football bettors left in the entire nation, so they’ll easily top the betting polls in the crowded Big XII South. The Oklahoma State offense can do it all. They rank 7th in the country in total yards (512), 5th in the country on the ground (273.2), and 38th in passing yards (238.8). They’ve averaged beating the spread by 10.8 points per game. They’re now 10-1 ATS in their L/11 games overall, and have covered three straight against this week’s opponent, Texas Tech.

Next up: Away @ Texas Tech (9-0)

2: Texas Longhorns (7-2 ATS, 8-1 SU) HC Mack Brown looked set to lead his Longhorns towards another national championship if he could have just gotten past the Red Raiders in Lubbock. They lost a wild 39-33 game against T-Tech, but still find themselves ranked #4 in the BCS and in good shape for a spot in the BCS if they can run the table from here on out. QB Colt McCoy has thrown for 2,579 yards this season to pace the #9 ranked passing attack in the country. Texas has averaged a whopping 50.7 points per game against the Bears in nine football betting match-ups since 1999.

Next up: Home vs. Baylor (3-6)

3: Oklahoma Sooners (6-2 ATS, 8-1 SU) Oklahoma has been flying under the radar since losing to the Longhorns a few weeks ago, but it still ranks #6 in the BCS and could find itself in the thick of the national championship hunt when it’s all said and done. QB Sam Bradford has been fantastic for HC Bob Stoops, completing 68% of his passes for 3,086 yards and 34 touchdowns against just six picks this year. The Sooners have won the L/2 weeks by a combined score of 120-63, covering the sports betting line in both games. They’re now 6-2 ATS in their L/8 road games, and look to improve on that mark this week at Texas A&M.

Next up: Away @ Texas A&M (4-5)

4: Texas Tech Red Raiders (4-2-1 ATS, 9-0 SU) It’s guns up in Lubbock right now, as the Red Raiders rank #2 in the BCS. The team will only go as far as QB Graham Harrell and WR Michael Crabtree take it. Harrell has thrown for 3,621 yards, while Crabtree has 921 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns. The Red Raiders have been a dominant team for sports betting fanatics when they are less than two-touchdown favorites. They’re 7-2 ATS in that situation, and find themselves facing another short spread this week against Oklahoma State.

Next up: Home vs. Oklahoma State (8-1)

5: Baylor Bears (5-3 ATS, 3-6 SU) Baylor is only 1-5 SU in its L/6 games, but the team has covered the spread in five of its L/7 overall. Last week, the Bears almost sprung a huge upset over Missouri, falling 31-28, but easily staying within the 21-point football betting line. It’s hard to blame Baylor for ranking 93rd in total defense at 394.6 yards per game, as it’s had to defend Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, and Missouri this season. Those numbers probably won’t improve this week, as they have to travel to Austin to do battle with an angry bunch of Longhorns.

Next up: Away @ Texas (8-1)

6: Texas A&M Aggies (4-5 ATS, 4-5 SU) Aggies bettors have recovered from a 1-5 ATS start with three straight football betting victories. The offense has exploded in its L/2 games, averaging 36.5 points per game after managing just 24.1 points per game in its first six games. The offense will need all of those points against the Sooners, who will pay a visit to College Station this weekend. The Aggies’ defense ranks 106th in total yards (427.1), and 103rd in points allowed (32.6).

Next up: Home vs. Oklahoma (8-1)
