By now, even the most casual football fan probably knows that the NFL. Led by sure-fire Hall of Famer quarterback Peyton Manning, the Colts and their terrific quartet of receivers have set the standard for passing and receiving excellence.
However, as they enter their Chicago Bears, questions remain as to how effective they will be against an outstanding Bears defense that features two defensive backs (Nathan Vasher and Ricky Manning Jr.) that can pick off passes in their sleep.
Having said that, here are the answers on how well the Colts will do in this game through the air.
Reggie Wayne total receiving yards:
Over 85½ yds -110
Under 85½ yds -130
This is a tough call. Neither Marvin Harrison or Reggie Wayne has exactly been on fire this postseason, but I'm going to say Wayne will reach over 85.5 yards for the game - but just barely. Take the over.
Colts’ 1st player to receive a 20+ yard catch in game:
Marvin Harrison +110
Ben Utecht +440
Reggie Wayne +130
Dallas Clark +550
Joseph Addai +400
Dominic Rhodes +450
Bryan Fletcher +1000
Field (Any Other not in the list) +500
No complete pass in the game by Colts +15000
The Bears aren't going to let Harrison or Wayne beat them deep. Go with Dallas Clark or even Ben Utecht for a payoff.
Reggie Wayne total receptions:
Over 5 receptions -120
Under 5 receptions -120
It won't be many more than the five-reception line, but I think Wayne should be able to catch six passes.
Dallas Clark total receptions:
Over 3½ receptions -140
Under 3½ receptions EV
This is one of the easiest wagers on the board. There is no way Clark doesn't catch at least four balls. Trust me - take the over.
Colts’ first player to catch a pass in the game:
Marvin Harrison +110
Ben Utecht +440
Reggie Wayne +130
Dallas Clark +550
Joseph Addai +400
Dominic Rhodes +450
Bryan Fletcher +1000
Field (Any Other not in the list) +500
No complete pass in the game by Colts +15000
If there is no complete pass in the game all options will lose except for No complete pass in the game option.
It sure would be nice to go with the "no completed pass" for 15000, but this is reality. I'm going to say Dungy starts Manning off nice and easy with a simple timing throw outside to Marvin Harrison.
Marvin Harrison total receptions:
Over 6 receptions -120
Under 6 receptions -120
I'm going to say that the Bears limit Harrison to under six receptions. However, Harrison's receptions have more to do with quality than quantity. Take the under here.
Longest single reception by Marvin H. in the game:
Over 28 yards -120
Under 28 yards -120
He won't catch many balls, but as I just stated, it's more about quality with Harrison. Take the over here. Harrison gets at least one catch of 30 yards or more.
Dallas Clark total receiving yards:
Over 50½ yds -120
Under 50½ yds -120
Again, what were the oddsmakers thinking here with Clark? Take the over here, people.
Longest single reception by Dallas C. in the game:
Over 22 yards -120
Under 22 yards -120
Clark seems to always be good for at least one 30-yard catch each game lately and I don't think this game will be any different. Take the over.
Marvin Harrison total receiving yards:
Over 85½ yds -120
Under 85½ yds -120
I already picked Wayne to go over 85 yards receiving so I'll stick with that. Let's take the under here with Harrison.
Colts’ 1st player to receive 10+ yard catch in game:
Marvin Harrison +110
Ben Utecht +440
Reggie Wayne +130
Dallas Clark +550
Joseph Addai +400
Dominic Rhodes +450
Bryan Fletcher +1000
Field (Any Other not in the list) +500
No complete pass in the game by Colts +15000
I'm riding Dallas Clark this game. No team this postseason has been able to figure out a way to stop Clark because they concentrate on Indy's spectacular wideouts so much. Take Clark here again.
