HOT

LaDainian Tomlinson, Chargers--Where do we start? L.T. had 107 yards rushing with three touchdowns, and added another 46 yards receiving and an additional touchdown. The best in the game, hands down.

Shaun Alexander, Seahawks--Alexander rushed for 173 yards and two scores on the Cards. Still one of the best, even if he doesn't get as much attention as some.

Larry Johnson, Chiefs--Johnson had 107 yards rushing with a score, plus 48 yards receiving to help down the Raiders.

Rueben Droughns, Browns--Haven't seen his name much here but he had 189 total yards and rushed for 116 yards on the Titans, who basically cannot beat anybody anymore.

Antowain Smith, Saints--Smith rushed for 110 yards vs the Bears. Good effort, but not enough.

Antonio Gates, Chargers--Gates had 132 yards receiving on the Jets. He is the best at his position in the game at this point.

Steve Smith, Panthers--Smith had 106 yards receiving with a score on the Bucs. He is pushing for MVP honors in my book.

Michael Bennett, Vikings--Bennett had 106 yards rushing and a touchdown reception. Good enough for us.

Larry Fitzgerald, Cards--Fitzgerald had 102 yards receiving against Seattle. Not enough by any means, but a good day nonetheless.

Scott Vines, Lions-- Vines had 109 yards receiving against the Vikes. At least someone on offense showed up.

Tommy Kelly, Raiders--Unofficially, Kelly is credited with three sacks and two forced fumbles vs the Chiefs. Big day for him.

Chris Gamble, Panthers--Gamble had two picks, one a 61-yard return for a score. Nice.

Troy Polamalu, Steelers--Polamalu recovered two fumbles and returned one of them 77 yards for a score. Definitely on the hot list.

Albert Young, Iowa Hawkeyes--Young rushed for 202 yards with a pair of touchdowns on Northwestern Saturday. Unfortunately, his team lost. But a great performance nonetheless.

You Make the Call

Kurt Warner, Cards--Warner threw for 334 yards with a touchdown. Unfortunately, he also threw three picks and fumbled once. You call it.

NOT

Terrell Owens, Eagles--Big surprise he should appear here, right? T.O. has finally cemented himself as one of the most classless individuals in the NFL. So instead of being remembered as one of the best receivers of all time, he will now be remembered as a selfish player who could just not keep his big mouth shut or his ego in check.

Kevan Barlow, Niners--Barlow rushed for four yards on 10 carries. That is terrible.

Gus Frerotte, Dolphins--Gus had 103 yards passing with a pick in the loss to the Falcons. Not good at all.

Jamal Lewis, Ravens--Lewis rushed for 49 yards on 15 carries vs Cinncy. No 2,000 yards in his future to say the least.

Carnell Williams, Bucs--Williams had 29 yards rushing vs Carolina. Not ROY stuff.

Priest Holmes, Chiefs--Holmes sat out the Oakland game after getting blown up against the Chargers in Week Eight. Now he is out for the remainder of the season. The injuries may be catching up with him.

Chris Simms, Bucs--Simms had three turnovers vs the Panthers. One of his two picks went the other way for a score. Very Cold.

Charlie Batch, Steelers--Batch threw for all of 65 yards on the Packers. Not real impressive and Ben better get well soon.

Cody Pickett, Niners--Pickett had 102 yards passing with a pick in the loss to the Giants. Not going to win many games with numbers like that.

Virginia Tech--Undefeated, playing a rival on your home turf. What more could any team ask for? Guess not, Tech had it handed to them in front of their home faithful by the Miami Hurricanes. No roses for the overrated Hokies.

UCLA--The undefeated Bruins got smoked by an Arizona team that came in at 2-6. Does that make UCLA overrated or pathetic?
